I love my sweetheart. is it normal to be really nervous about getting married?!! I am so scared! It is hitting me that I am gonna be married within like, um 2 months! I am just nervous cause my last relationship ended really badly ..... and my parents definitely were not role models for a good marriage! maybe need a therapist! LOL! anybody else feel the same way??? I am worried about just the normal stuff , and of course, the immigration process,my honee adjusting to the United states(philippines is really different culturally from here -NY; LOL!) any input, anyone?

Well if you plan to wear your wedding gown with sneakers, then I'd be worried

other than that, unless there's HIGE debilitating anxiety, I'd chalk it up as natural

I think it's good that you understand your background (parent's marriage) and that you don't want to go down that road. I get nervous thinking about too - more because I've already had a failed marriage and I really want to have a happy and fulfilling marriage like my parents (married nearly 50 years).

I'd highly recommend 2 books from Harville Hendrix, "Getting The Love You Want" and "Keeping The Love You Find." He and his wife are both therapists and he's been counseling married couples for close to 30 years. They founded a new method of marriage therapy called, Imago Therapy. You can actually find participating therapists in your area who use the methods he describes in the books.
