We were approved at the end of August last year... Later things got a bit complicated, and we decided to make a pause.. Now aproved application expired (actually it expired last year). Recently we decided that we want to work out this , and carry on with visa.. Is it possible to reniew application somehow , or we need to make a new application? What consequences we might have ?

Check with the embassy, some will keep it and automatically renew up to a year...can't say for UK.

Your dates are cutting it close, but it may still be there just waiting.

Most all the embassies will extend the validity of the petition up to a year. Just need to contact the embassy with your question.

For London > http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/ivfaqs_interview.html

I am applying for a K-1 visa, I have heard that I need a letter from my fiancé(e) to reaffirm the petition, what is this?

If the visa interview is scheduled more than 4 months from the date the petition is approved, the applicant will be required to provide an original letter from the petitioner, confirming that they both remain legally free to marry and that they intend to do so within 90 days of the applicant's entry to the United States. There is no requirement that the letter be notarized.

  • 3 weeks later...

Ok , so things went like this: I contacted embassy, and they say thats we both must send statement what we still want to do this.. The due date is year from the date they send me letter form embasy.. Though I'm bit worried, because if I need to get appointment by that time too, not so much time left.. Of course it's only our fault what we postponed things..
