I love this site - but it seems to make me anxious coming here...

I don't know what I would have done without this site up till now, and would just die if it went away while we are still struggling through the whole visa journey.

But - I have to say that it causes me some anxiety to come here. Not because of anyone here, or any of the discussions or topics, it's not that at all. I think it just brings it all back for me - the stress, the worry, the waiting - and I really hate that!!!

I know there is a wonderful support system here that I could never find anywhere else - you just don't know what this is like unless you have lived it. Family and friends just shake their heads and say, wow - you have really stuck it out you two!! They have no idea.

Anyway - not really much of a point to this post I guess. Only to say that I really really appreciate everyone here and all the help we get when we need it. Even if I'm not around very much.

I know exactly how you feel. VJ is a great place and I've met a lot of wonderful people. But there are the days that I see "we got the visa" and I have all these mixed feelings. Happy and sad at the same time. There have even been a few times that I take a break from VJ because I get depressed seeing all the other approvals. Seems like I've been waiting forever although it is only a fraction that some people have had to wait. We will all get our day sooner or later. (sooner is always better though) LOL :P

VJ has been a sanity saver for me...it's great knowing we're not alone in this process. I remember those disheartening feelings of seeing all those NOA2's and here we sat with nothing. Now, I can definately empathise with the newbies, and with those of you who haven't gotten anything and have been waiting for such a long time. Sometimes I have to take a break too. I'm just glad we don't have to go this alone. :luv:

Im deffinatly glad I found VJ, for the enormous support. I also get happy and sad when I see other people getting their approvals. I know mine is right around the corner, but it does not help when you are hoping to get it that day and you see other people getting it instead. And i feel anger when I see other service centers approving people fast, and seeing their wait time isnt even half of what some of ours are with TSC and CSC. Im not angry at the people getting the approvals, they dont control the centers. I do however get upset when i see someone say they have waited soooo long for their approval when it was actually only 10 days or less, and some of us sit here awaiting sometimes over 100 days for whatever reason, RFE or NO RFE.

Im sorry if i stepped on anyones toes and hurt feelings, i guess its one of those nights where i just feel like its just NEVER gonna happen. Anyway I think im through bi***ing. :)

I've found great advice and info at VJ, especially when I was having problems with my EAD. I think that is why I was a more relaxed at the interview that my husband (the USC).

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Ditto - the practical advice, help and support here has been amazing and really worthwhile. I too have had days when I felt I can't bear to see another 'approved' post tho that makes me feel selfish and silly - I can't begrudge someone else their joy just because I didnt get mine yet (tho I just did, in the form of NOA2, so now the relief is incredible).

One of the reasons I come back daily is that I want to put BACK some of the help I've received by helping other people with queries and support - that feels right and fair to me (is that too karmic? lol)

Other peoples problems become YOUR (and mine) problems. Plus the actual number of problems gets amplified here. Usually only problems get posted.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. I agree - I would never ever begrudge anyone their hard earned visa. But it is hard sometimes to read those happy stories. I'm sitting here at work and just read BettyBlue's interview story, and started crying right here on the darn keyboard. :crying:

Our time will come, I do know that. And in the mean time, we will all "pay if forward". :-)

Hi Lizaanne,

I totally understand what you're talking about. VJ has been truly great and very helpful during my K1 process and I got to meet really nice people here even develop some special friendships over the times. However, since we're a little left behind in our AOS process I dreaded going to VJ because it makes me nervous seeing other's AOS journey and makes me sad sometimes. But all in all, VJ has been such a great resources for us.

Take care & good luck! :)

Without this site I would be completely lost to the entire process. I'm so grateful for VJ. I do get a little anxiety when I see someones timeline with 260 days waiting and no NOA2 ....that is terrifying. It's awesome to have so much information but certainly we all hope our process flies by without any delays. I'm just grateful that if there are delays, there's also a wealth of knowledge in VJ to help us through it. I remember one night going throught an entire 19 page thread about 221g. OMG it worked me up into such a frenzie...I had to remind myself that it hasn't happend to us and to save all that nervous energy for the time when or if it does actually happen. A break can definately rejuvenate the spirit.
