I am just really confused that I've seen that only non immigrants visas would be affected.. but people are saying that immigrants one, like CR-1, are being affected too..

It's all visas...anything after June 9th. The state department site states as such.

No Visa's in any category can be printed in any embassy (work, student, K1, CR1 etc) so that affects everyone. The problem with the Non Immigrant Visa's if they had not applied online to fill out the DS 160 form before June 9th then the embassy is unable to process their case at this time and they have suggested that some may need to reschedule an interview. Two different issues, but stemming from the same problem of them not being able to access the data base they need for security clearances to process.

I don`t know if other embassies are the same but this is what it said on the Belgian US embassy`s website:

DELAYS IN PROCESSING VISAS: Due to circumstances beyond our control there will be a delay in processing non-immigrant visa applications. This is a worldwide problem, originating in Washington, DC, and is not specific to Belgium. While appointment times will be kept as scheduled, there will be a delay in printing all categories of visas. We hope the problem will be resolved shortly. We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

What I understand from this is that first of all, the immigrant visa most of us are applying for, is not where the problem is, it`s a problem with the non immigrant ones. And second of all, interviews are still kept as schedules, they just can`t be printed out at this moment (the NON immigrant ones)

For me personally this is a big relief so I hope it can make you guys a little less worried about it as well! :)

The K-1/K-2 is consider and treated as a non-immigrant visa so yes Martha you are affected if you interviewed on or after June 9th.

Reread the quote you put. It says delayed processing for non immigrant visas yes but it also says there will be a delay in printing of all categories of visas. There are two separate problems.

1 DS160 issues for non immigrant visas

2 Printing for all visas

:energy: Hey Everybody...what do you think about this....our case is in AP a year now, then tonight we get an update (still ap) but it updated with a past date. So it updated back dated. I check multiple times a day. Tonight it says 14 JUN, but it updated 16 Jun pm. What do you think? Are they fixing this system with their "background checks/visa issueing problems" and actually working on our case? Anyone please say Yes!!! :energy:

wow congratulation. IN SHA ALLAH your husband will get his visa this Month

Hopefully you will get the visa soon! I just wanted to say that I found the same sort of update on our case. It was updated on June 9th, and again on June 14th (however, I didn't notice the June 14th update until last night). In our situation, we actually received an email from the embassy on the 14th about our interview. So I figured it was some actual update that didn't post for a few days.

At least you've been approved. I have seen you're other posts on here and I gather the process has not been kind to you too. I think you are waiting to bring your child too, if I'm not mistaken? Please keep us updated when your fiance gets her visa in hand!

Yeah you are correct on all counts. This process has been extremely unfair and unkind. 221 days in the TSC, a wait to pass through the NVC, waited 2 weeks for the green light to schedule an interview at the embassy, then once the nod was given there were no interview slots for another two weeks, and now the friggin State Department BS. It is what it is. Needless to say the USCIS as a whole will not be invited to our wedding or any other related event. lol

Thanks, will keep everyone updated. I hope that they bring the system back online ASAP, though they've said not until next week. I wonder what the backlog looks like ... whatever it is, we're a part of it (the backlog) now after the approval today!

U.S. Deputy Secretary of Department of State, Antony Blinken released a statement today on the "glitch"...also gives you some insight into how little the government is concerned about what people are going through. Some of these stories are absolutely horrific of what this glitch is costing people.

So I'm kinda hearing a few different things, my assumption is that everybody no matter who you are who have interviews and are approved after June 9th are gonna experience a delay, but other people are saying that as long as you applied/paid for DS-160 and all that jazz before June 9th you'll probably be fine...

So which one is it? lol
