No from what I understand it is on his/her own merits. They must convince the officers that they will return. They must have significant ties to their home country.

I don't know if this is the same as in Egypt, but it's not just income. It's ties in general. Does he have a job, children, own a business or property, etc in Colombia? But yes, it all comes down to: will they really return after the visit?

Having attended an interview, having read thousands of reports of others who have attended an interview, it is extremely rare that the person who attended the interview does not know why, so I would start there.

I asked the reason, He said that they said it wasn't suitable.

I'm finding out if they gave him an exact reason (Code ect... or if he has not got the letter). It sucks he put up $200 to get denied.
