ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS AFTER AOS INTERVIEW

Had an interview recently, over 3weeks ago to be precise. No decision was made. Before the interview, I had received an RFE for I-864 which I responded with a Joint Sponsor cause my wife last income tax didn't meet up to the poverty guideline. In the interview room the IO pointed out some other issues that was going on with my file: I had failed to look at my Joint Sponsor Adjusted Gross Income which was also below the Poverty Guideline because he has some Business Income Loss (I wonder how I missed that). Also my wife's divorce decree was what the court sent to our email and it was missing some seals on it and the IO explained that it is not acceptable by the USCIS. Apart from that everything looks good.

He advices us to try get those documents: The original divorce decree from the court and The i-864: get another joint sponsor or get some assets to fill up the gap. Cause we might receive another RFE in the mail or we might get approved in a week time. my wife asked if we could bring it to him; he said he may be busy and it is better we wait to get the mail he's going to send us and we should respond also through the mail... well we didn't get "approved mail or an RFE" and it's over a week.

I and my wife got the divorce decree from the court and I now have another joint sponsor.

Before getting all these documents I had booked an Info Pass appointment for next week concerning my EAD; but I received it in the mail about 2days ago.

My question is can I take these documents to the info pass and asked that it should be added to my case to cut the delay??? Can I ask to see the Officer and give it to him??? Has anyone had such issue before???

you could try going to your infopass and handing in the documents, and if that doesn't work, send them via mail.

I'm not sure, I would ask that at the infopass.

Sometimes they take a long time to take any action after the AOS interview. My file was perfectly fine, but they still took 20 days to approve it. Maybe the infopass can serve at least as a reminder to send you that RFE.

Azukabenson,I had the same experience last month but the interviewing officer told me to send the rfe letter in addition to the document requsted.So I guess it will be advisable to do so since the letter contains your case number and so on.

Thank you DannyMan: But I didn't get an rfe letter after my interview or should I say I am still expecting it. Or are you talking about the first Rfe that I didn't respond to properly? I sure do have a copy of that Rfe letter.

waiting is sure not a good thing, especially when they tell you they have the wrong documents with them. if I can get this documents to them I will be kinda ok. at least then I will say all my stuff is good I just have to wait for an approval but right now I can't say that.
