Sporadic marriage...?

I remember reading somewhere once, that there is a sporadic marriage visa.

Where, if you enter the US just on a holiday/vacation, and you happen to meet somewhere there and then, that you can marry them, and adjust status on some knid of green card visa..?

Is that true..?? If so, what is the name of the visa..?

Can I get more info on this..?

What you are referring to is someone using a non-immigrant visa and then marrying when they arrive and adjusting status.

If you enter the US on a visitor/student/any other visa besides a K-1 with the intent to marry and adjust status, it is visa fraud. The fact that you are asking this question in advance shows intent, so this is not a legal option for you.

It's not a special visa that is just for this purpose.

Marrying while you're in the US on a non-immigrant visa and adjusting status is questionable but sometimes it is done in good faith. An example of this might be a student that is studying in the US and meets and marries a US Citizen... instead of going home and filing a spousal visa, they are able to just adjust status because they came in good faith with no intention of staying.

An illegal example would be coming on a visitor's visa with the idea in the back of your mind and marrying someone and adjusting status.

Please don't use this information as a way to get around legally coming to the US, as that is one of the reasons most of our fiance's cannot get visitor's visas to visit us during this long drawn-out process. Just do it the right way. And if you're asking "for someone else", tell them the same information!

Hello. That is possible as that exactly was my case. You need to file 130 and 485 forms at the same time.

FYI. There was no intent to marry on our end,which should be the case. Otherwise, it will be considered as fraud.
