Well I know they're not exactly babies, lol, but we ended up re-naming two of our cats on sight because they didn't look like the names we'd picked out for them. For example my black kitty, Pierre (featured below in HIS baby pic) I'd originally called 'Peanut". But as we took him home in the car I had him on my lap and he kinda looked at mea deeply in the eyes (as below) and said "Mommy, I am not Peanut. my name is Pierre." and that's when it came to me...

I expect I'll pick out a few names pre-birth but then AT birth, things might change depending on what the baby "told" me...ya know? anyway let's all look at Pierre's baby pics. We rescued him when he was 5 weeks old - he is possibly the smallest, yet most intellectual kitten I have ever owned.

Pierre at 5 weeks:

And just for kicks, this is our newest little one, Angel, who we got in late november. She will be the last cat for now - unless something crazy happens like a tiny kitten comes mewing outside in the rain or something... Anyway here SHE is:

And those are some of my furbabies. Not all, but some :P

Feb 2009 - Called USCIS to see what the heck was goin' on...

OMG your kitties are SO cute. I have an all white kitty too - but she's not as cute as yours :)

This will prolly be my favorite thread as well. I LOVE talking about babies, and how BADLY I want one...but I don't like to do it here around my friends. Don't know why.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

I also haven't been telling my friends here that we are actively trying. But many of them have been bugging us for over a year with "when are you going to have a baby?!!". I think it's partially because Sujeet and I are in a better financial situation than many of my married friends and yet they had babies before us. Of course we want a baby. But there were certain reasons we waited until now, like wanting to be in an even better financial situation(we feel good with that now), also making sure we spend enough alone time together since we were separated for so long during the visa process. Now we feel ready to add someone in to the family. :) I'm excited!! Well we've only been trying for about 1&1/2 months now so not really that long.

The reason I have not told my friends here that we are actively trying, is because if it takes awhile I don't want them asking me every month..."are you pregnant yet?" because it's always disappointing when you don't get pregnant right away.

Luis and I already have names for a boy and a girl

There are several members of both our families that are almost as eager for us to have babies as we are. It does add a bit extra stress to the situation.

For a few key reasons, I believe it may be a bit more challenging for us to conceive than most couples. I intend to discuss options with my doctor next month.

But we've just got to have Faith... (L)(L)(L)

I will be 37 soon, but hubby and his family are a little "concerned" that I still don't have a great need or desire to be pregnant. I just cannot buy into that children-complete-you-and-your-family, or that once-you-have-them-your-lives-will-be-different mushy deal. Yeah, I know babies and children will change my life. I don't care if babies complete so-and-so's lives or whatever. I don't live their lives, so it doesn't affect me. I also don't know if I want a little someone depending on me for their survival and betterment until they reach an age where they'll turn around and tell you they know better now. It fills me with more dread than anticipation. lol.

I also remain totally unaffected when family and friends who are already parents tell me I better hurry because time is running out. Er, yeah, right, whatever. To my mother-in-law's full credit, she has known better than to ask me or my husband if we've started planning to have children. I think she has come to know me quite well.

The peculiar thing? I look after other people's babies very well. My co-worker was completely amazed when I knew how to burp her month-old baby girl. lol.

Despite all this semi-depressing thought flow, I told hubby during our many talks that we WILL have children. I may never have the desire, but I think children are important (just not sure why yet). Thankfully, he's not in a desperate hurry to be a daddy yet, so we agreed to talk and plan parenthood in utter seriousness next year. Until that time, I will try to figure out why I am totally not drawn to motherhood ... and explore if maybe this will possibly change in the near future.

So, has this Baby Creator thread actually created any babies yet? If not, I'd suspect that you guys are haninging out on VJ too much and that you are not getting enough of that ole' laundry done. ;)

The laundry's getting done at home. I spend time on VJ at work...while I should be working :D

Yeah, I'm only on VJ at work. Now if I could do laundry here that would be the stuff. But, I don't think my employer would appreciate that very much. And, my situation being what it is, we can do laundry till the cows come home and it won't help. :(

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I have heard a lot of "When you are going to have a baby?" but not, "are you pregnant yet?" since they don't know we are actively trying yet. I don't mind the 1st question, the 2nd question is what would annoy me.

So, has this Baby Creator thread actually created any babies yet? If not, I'd suspect that you guys are haninging out on VJ too much and that you are not getting enough of that ole' laundry done. ;)

Well since hubby is at work all day, being on VJ during the day doesn't affect me getting pregnant at all. :P
