Beautiful baby Mand!

On our camp, I'm not sure what the status is. Still no cycle, but I'm having the stupid symptoms (mainly pressure and cramping) like my cycle is trying to come. On the flip side of the coin, I can't even hold a sip of water (running straight to the bathroom) and feeling lightheaded.

I left a message for my doc and waiting for her to get back to me because I don't know what to think about this.

The TTC process can be so stressful. After just 4 months of trying, it's already becoming a bit much. We want a child too badly, I think, and that's a pressure neither of us are fully prepared to handle.

The disappointment each month gets worse. It's wise, I believe, simply to be Faithful that when the time is right for us, it will happen.

That going to be our approach now, anyway...and just make the most of our time together as selfishly as we want!!!

I look forward to reading about more successes, however (L)

Just wanted to post a fun story about a fellow teacher who works in the same district as me.

She and her husband were trying to conceive for about 3 years and eventually tried even IVF without success. They started adoption proceedings for a baby in Guatemala and the adoption was due to go through in January. Well, during the adoption proceedings she found out that she is unexpectedly pregnant and due in April. So they are continuing with the adoption and having a baby of their own too. People have told her she's crazy because her life will be so chaotic with a 9 month old and a newborn, but I totally understand why she would continue with the adoption.

I had this conversation with her when we were both waiting for flu shots in November. I remember thinking that she sure was up for a challenge, but a lot of fun as well. Little did I know that I was actually carrying twins rather than one at the time!

I may never have the desire, but I think children are important (just not sure why yet). Thankfully, he's not in a desperate hurry to be a daddy yet, so we agreed to talk and plan parenthood in utter seriousness next year. Until that time, I will try to figure out why I am totally not drawn to motherhood ... and explore if maybe this will possibly change in the near future.

Don't even ask me why I was browsing this thread (but AddyGV, your story sure choked me up!) but Ephesia, if you ever start a thread on this topic, PM me!

It would be a very interesting conversation for many of us.

Mand, Sinead is gorgeous! I am so glad everything has worked out.

I did start a new job, at a better school and it's great. I love it...I MIGHT be changing again...My alma mater had a position open up and I applied...I should be hearing any day now...we'll see :)

Keep us posted!! If you and Rob ever decide to move back to the states...there's plenty of room in Florida :)

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!

Sorry to jonesie and Charity and others who are out for this month.

I'm out too.

I’m sorry girls…

The hardest part of TTC is not knowing how to handle disappointment. I still have a few days to go before knowing if I am out or not for this month (I’m on my 6 dpo). It kills me that I read so many things regarding how my body feels, and every little thought is… I am too sleepy, maybe I’m pregnant, my back hurts maybe I am pregnant… I am craving something, maybe I’m pregnant… and then… ugly period comes and is all back to the drawing board. And then during the period I can’t help but think that there is something wrong with me, because there are a million people out there that does not want a baby and get pregnant by just taking their trousers off!! It’s almost infuriating.

I know that if I strike out again this month, it’s going to be a downer… but I will deal with it when the time comes… and all I can do is think that God will know when the time is right to send us a little bundle of joy. Meanwhile, I we can do is hope…

Hugs to all, and may God bring our little ones soon.

I feel just a little bad saying that we got pregnant with no problem... we didn't plan it but we did, if that makes any sense.

I moved from Croatia with a several months stash of contraceptive pills, and we decided that when I use them up we will stay contraceptive free and see what happens.

I had a doctor's visit about a month into my last box of pills and she gave me a prescription for prenatals right away, and told me to start taking them after I finish with the pills at the time when I would normally get on the pill again.

About month and a half to two after I stopped the contraception home pregnancy test was positive. I didn't go to my doc until I was already 14 weeks, part of me was freaked she'll say the home test was wrong and I wasn't pregnant after all.

I am now in my 21 week, we know it will be a girl and her name will be Mika Rose :star:

The nursery decoration is in high gear, hopefully it will be ready for painting next week when I am on Spring Break... then, it's furniture shopping  I LOVE Target....

Naturalized! Yeah!

Congratulations Ivona:

I didnt mean to make you feel bad. At least you wanted to get pregnant, and lucky you, you didnt have to wait!!

I meant, all those teenagers or women who are not prepared to have children, drug addicts, etc. That simply dont want to get pregnant and do so really quick...

Again, congratulations, and just sprinkle us with your baby dust...:)

No worries, I know what you guys mean... I just meant- actually, exactly what you are saying...so many people getting pregnant by accident, going ahead with the pregnancy, and then either giving babies up for adoption or in some cases making the worse choice of keeping them. I work at an elementary school and I see such a huge numbers of parents who are completely blind to the needs of their kids.

And then on the other hand you have people who really want kids, and who would make good parents if for nothing else than for the fact that the baby was wanted, pregnancy was planned for and so on...but it's not happening

I do think though that a lot of it has to do with the stress to get pregnant brought on by the overwhelming desire for baby. I know that was my biggest "worry": will my want for baby actually cause me problems with conceiving?

There is a guy here at work who is married for 13 years now, and his wife never got pregnant in those 13 years even though they were trying. She also has sickle cell which would complicate things, so they decided to adopt and it came through last year. And guess what, she is now 15 weeks pregnant...
