Does the DS-160 form need to be filled out before the medical or just the interview?

It can be filled out once you have the date for the medical.

It has a section to enter the medical date and it can be a future date.

I hope this helps. I have several people here on VJ who have guided me on my k1 visa app and ill just pass on the info to you.

fill out ds 160

register online at slec ( just register, no appointment is needed as it is WALK IN with SLEC) ( you can register at SLEC before or after you schedule your interview, it is ok)

schedule an interview. once you know your schedule, then go to SLEC 2 weeks prior to your interview.

after interview, and approved, you will get your visa and passport by mail.

after that, you will attend a seminar in CFO Manila.

then, you can schedule your flight to the USA. your k1 visa is valid for 6 months from the date of issuance.

If it is a MANILA case, there is no medical date. Medical in the PHilippines is WALK in basis. no appointment necessary.

Are you sure? I don't remember them asking about your medical exam date. Only medical questions I remember were if you're a drug user, if you have a mental problem or if you have HIV. Nothing actually related to the medical exam. And considering you can do the medical exam after the interview (not recommended but possible) I doubt they would ask for it in the DS-160. And like I said, I don't remember that question being on there though I could be wrong.

Seems like the ds160 varies from country to country but for Sweden the only question asked about the medical was if you have the proper vaccinations done.

OP- considering this topic is about the Philippines, and my bad for assuming all DS-160s were the same!

the instructions for you just mention to do this before the interview.

Safe to say you should probably do it after the medical.

Maria&Steve- My DS-160 for England is obviously to me now different to other countries. Ours requires a medical date that you can enter before the medical so as soon as the results are at the embassy they can schedule the interview.

So yeah it would be different for you as it seems all of them are.

Ah yes, now I remember! Well it would make sense that there are difference's between the embassies.
