We did a practice 'pack' last night and we have wayyyyyyyyy too much stuff to take. His boss is sending a bag of pills, like Ecotrin and Advil and it alone weighs 10 lbs. Finished shopping for the brothers. The sisters are tonight. Are my fellow Feb 24th travelers ready?

LOL., I haven't done a practice "pack" but it is a good idea. All my gift type items are stacked around in the area where I should be packing, hehe . . . most of my clothes haven't migrated that far but I have a good idea what is going . . . except I had to go shopping to buy myself some new sleepwear . . . something for warmer weather as the temps are up in Cairo . . . lol, I just wanted a reason to buy new stuff, didn't I?? OH, and I bought myself some snacks to carry on the plane . . . I have a few hours to kill in Frankfurt and I don't want to get some euros just to eat!!! So some dried fruit, pb/crackers, chocolate (hehe, I have sooooooooooo much of this packed up() . . .that should keep me going till Cairo and some nice fresh falafel, hehe!!

My foot is in a cast!!!!! I have crutches!!!!!!!!!! They gave me a note that says the cast cannot be removed. to get thru the airport security. This raises all kinds of travel issues. The crutches will go on the plane with me right? Should we call the travel agent and see if they need to know about this ahead of time?

We're staying in Morocco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok..... I wish we were staying in Morocco. We'll be back in two weeks and a few days. I love it here so much! I think in a year or two we will move here for sure. And I have been thinking even right now we should be here. There is so much stuff here we have to get done since his father passed away. It's so hard for his mother right now with everything, and I know a huge burdon has been lifted off her shoulders since we've been here. I just wish there was a way for us to do that right now, but there isn't.

Anyway, today we went to Tetuan to look at one of the peices of land and to visit some of his family. It was very nice, but I still like Tanger! Tomorrow we will go to his father's grave and then to Mohamed V mosque for Jummah and then eat Cous Cous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then tomorrow night Adil and I are taking a train to Marrakech and staying there for a day or so!

Anyway, that's all that's going on here. All is well and I love my family!

Jackie,

I think you can arrange to get a wheelchair to help you get around in the terminal. The travel agent might be able to get this setup for you, but I'd call the airlines also to see what kind of arrangements they can make for you!! I am sure they will let you bring on the crutches . . .

I think you should stay off that foot and keep it propped up as much as you can. I feel for you . . . my feet swell on those long flights anyway so get as much help as you can getting around the terminals . . . wheel chair and cart . . . take advantage of whatever they will provide for you!!!

I would imagine that keeping your foot raised on the plane might be a good idea. Not sure if that's possible however. Maybe you can sit sideways in your plane seat and leave your leg on your husband's lap. :D

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5
