The Interview - How did you organize your paperwork?

Hey folks,

Just curious as I couldn't find a suggested way to organize my paperwork for the interview...

I've seen some posts where the embassy staff made positive comments about how it was organized.

How did you guys do it?

Is there a "recommended way"?

  • 11/03/2015 Scheduled medical at Knightsbridge
  • 27/03/2015 Packet 3 Sent (online)
  • 20/04/2015 Readiness form submitted
  • 11/05/2015 Medical at Knightsbridge whio requested more information.
  • 11/05/2015 Request information from GP regarding medical history.
  • 26/05/2015 GP finally provides letter and faxes to Knightsbridge Medical
  • 28/05/2015 Knightsbridge confirm medical pack sent by courier to U.S. Embassy London
  • 11/06/2015 Packet 4 Received from London Embassy
  • 11/06/2015 Paid Visa fees on AIS website.
  • 16/07/2015 INTERVIEW - APPROVED!!!!
  • 21/07/2015 CEAC Changes to Administrative Processing
  • 22/07/2015 CEAC Changes to ISSUED
  • 07/08/2015 - The day I plan to fly!!

Currently waiting for Visa to arrive!! :clock:

Accordion file

1. Birth certificates

2. Divorce decree

3. Letter of consent from biological father of K2 (not required)

4. Police certificates

5. Sponsor/financial information

6. Passport photos (scanned and returned with passports)

7. Random evidence of ongoing relationship (not required)

With each original or certified document, I had a copy attached. No copies were required.

Everything was returned to me at the interview except the I-134 and financial things.

Photos returned with passports.

We carried in a folder like this (but plastic) with a stretchy band to hold it closed http://www.staples-3p.com/s7/is/image/Staples/s0190017_sc7?$splssku$

You don't have to take that much. Just stack your papers starting with interview letter (to show outside)

BASICS

Interview letter

Passport

Payment receipt

DS-160 confirmation

1 US passport photo

Birth certificate

police report

I-134 and two proofs of income

EXTRAS on the list that might apply to you

Adoption Certificate

Name Change Deed Poll

Divorce Decree or Death Certificate

Police report from another country

Court and Prison Records or Subject Access Report

Military Records

Translations (docs not in English)

New letter of intent from USC if petition has expired prior to interview.
