That's why I don't want to do nothing with an agency or lawyer they take to long for me. My husband could have been here I paid a lawyer last year December to send in my I130. it was March and I didn't even receive my i797. I asked for all my paperwork and money back. Did all my paperwork myself now and at least I know what's going on.

Hey DELILAHMERCEDES Welcome to VJ and aboard the June Filers thread!

We are basically in the same situation. Our cases were filed in late May and received at USCIS in June.

We also paid an Agency called Rapid Visa(RV) to work on our applications. My husband and I both decided to look for an agency or lawyer to help with the paperwork because it seemed overwhelming at that time and we just didn't want to $cԅ3ῴ things up. The amount of time required for us to obtain a visa seemed too long(IT IS too long actually! lol) and we just didn't want to take our chances (further delaying us being together like most of us feel here) and Rapid Visa had/have very good reviews and their fees were/are very affordable - much cheaper than hiring a lawyer(well atleast to us). They are always keeping in touch with us about the details and what was expected at each stage and what was involved.

When we filed our I-130, i was a bit worried that we didn't send in our pics and other info for proof of a bona fide marriage.. but the thing is ..the I-130 petition doesn't say anything about sending pics, emails or even an evolution of relationship letter. It is primarily the act of preventing a denial and issued a Request for Evidence at USCIS, (even at the Interview phase) that VJers here are encouraged and do front load.

When all our documents were prepared we sent them off to RV and surprisingly after they reviewed the paperwork they contacted us and said to resubmit one of the forms because it looked like a scanned copy of a signed form. My husband didn't argue even though he knew it was NOT a scanned copy so he just printed another form signed it and submitted it even though it was the same d@rn thing :goofy: . I'm thankful though that they picked that up instead of USCIS because sometimes people do get RFEs issued for that reason.

The reality is that the Internet and esp VJ has all the necessary information needed to help file for a US Visa(s)!

For the last couple of months while waiting for our approvals I've come to realize that the best lawyer/agency to find out and or make decisions about our petition is Ourselves the applicant(s)! I really recommend researching and getting oneself prepared for the next step even if working with a lawyer or a Visa agency.

That being said I've found out that we don't NEED to hire a Immigration lawyer neither a Visa Agency for this Visa application but would also like to add that lawyers are also highly recommended when dealing with(certain) immigration cases.

This is a DIY site so while we're here let's make good use of it - IT'S FREE!

}{ending positive vibes out to all those waiting for their approvals}{

Hi, I'm a July filer and my case was sent to Potomac as well. Just wondering if anybody in here was sent to that center as well and if you know of any updates?

Have you called customer care to inquire? There's not much info about this Service Center anywhere...... mysterious...
