Ditdot.... Thanks for the advice. I tried to fill my timeline numerous times and failed but will give one more try again. I was approved on 9th September. NVC received my application on 18th September. I called NVC on 15th October and got case number and invoice number. Today, I called NVC to ask them about when I should expect a welcome letter, a lady told me to wait for close to a year. I want to start the pre-visa processing of choosing an agent, filling the DS-261 and paying fees. If its true that I need to wait for one year, its ridiculous for a marriage that is over 2 years

Wow back in September! Since you already got your Case number and Invoice number 3 weeks ago you should be able to log into their website and your DS-261 should be available by now ... have you checked their site? https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Hi June filers. How long does it take to receive a welcome letter from NVC? I want to choose an agent and start off the DS-261 process and pay fees. I called NVC today and the lady told me to wait for close to a year for a letter from NVC. Is anybody going through the same situation?

What do you mean a year? Is the Petitioner a LPR?

When you log on what do you see? Do you get an error or is anything available? Why are you waiting for a welcome letter you already have case#. That's all you need.

Ditdot... Thanks for the link. I have followed the link and logged into it using the case number and invoice number but it says Please be advised that the case you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the NVC at this time. So what next????

You're welcome... Thanks to dhweels we know now where you stand... since your hubby sponsored you and is a LPR you will have to wait for your PD to become current for NVC to start working on your case. Right now if Im correct California Service Center is working on October 25th 2014 cases at the moment for PR filling for a spouse or child under 21- This I believe is the catergory you fall under and also explains the 1 year wait that the NVC CSRep told you over the phone.

I received a text message and email for our RFE at 11:50pm on Wed. 10/28, both came at the same time. USCIS only works until 6pm est, so text/email notifications were definitley on a delay.
