Did you mean you mailed them the AOS and IV packets? If yes, then you have to wait until NVC reviews the documents you've sent (30 days as what they say it will take) If you dont have any checklist, it will be case complete, then they will send you your interview schedule.

My wife's interview schedule will be on December 4, 2015 ☺

Goodluck to everyone.

Hi guys, my file is at NVC now, so I'm moving to that forum, but I wanted to give you guys a tip based on something I learned that might have cost me a few weeks of wasted time.

When your case gets sent to the NVC, follow up with them 2-3 weeks afterward to get your case number and IIN. With those, you can go online to https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ and fill out your DS261 (choice of agent) online and pay your Affidavit of Support (AOS) fee. You can fill out your AOS offline.

All instructions say to pay your IV (Immigrant Visa application) fee too and fill that form out online and send in all supporting documents together. However, the problem for me was that the IV fee never showed up as payable online, and the online IV application isn't accessible until you pay the IV fee. So what I've learned is this: Once you've paid the AOS fee and filled out the DS-261 form (choice of agent), start calling the NVC to have them review it with you (they just confirm the names and contact info). This will trigger the next step. The IV fee will soon show up as payable, and once you pay it and that payment clears, the IV application (DS-260) will become accessible to fill out online.

But I also learned that you can actually send in the AOS and its supporting documents as well as the supporting documents for the DS-260 (online IV application) while you're waiting for the IV application to be accessible online.

Basically, I thought the system would work on its own, but I realized that there are critical points where you need to call the NVC to make things happen. I hope this helps someone!

I think what you quoted is for the online IV application to get triggered (the DS260) I'm assuming youre done with this.

My wife's interview is on December 4, yes.

So you mailed your AOS and IV packets on different dates?

At this point I don't think there is anything you can do to speed up the process. Don't worrry though, because once it's reviewed and there are no checklists you will get case complete. More patience ☺

I may sound snoopy lol but I was checking cases on the USCIS website, going through numbers that were higher and lower than my last 2 digits (on my receipt number). I found that there were 2 consecutive numbers that were not so far from mine that had the status as "Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction". hmmm
