Hello All,

I Applied for I-130 for my wife.I applied as a green card holder but now i am a US citizen so have put in service request to upgrade my petition.

Below is my timeline:

  • NOA 1 -06/17/2015 (California Service Center)
  • Service Request to upgrade Petition- 07/28/2015 (I mailed copy of my naturalization certificate as well on the same day which was received on 07/31/2015).

Service request has not been approved yet but i do see that they have a officer assigned to work on the request.

When should i be expecting NOA 2?

Thanks

Did most of the June filers ( from Nebraska center) that are getting approved, file for expedition of their case? Just wondering because it seems Nebraska is processing cases from January 2014 :/

I was wondering the same thing :clock:

I know some were and a few weren't, the ones that were approved so fast that weren't expedited cases pretty much hit the petitioning lottery lol. There really isn't any rhythm or rhyme to how they approval applications it seems, just the luck of the draw. The normal wait time isusually though is 5-7 months at USCIS, without any hiccups. However I still pray and hope for a quick approval everyday! Good luck to all of us!

I thought I'd share because other people's timelines are helpful. NVC recieved our case July 22nd and we got our case number today August 7th (roughly 17days).

I think of you those of you waiting for those approvals daily. I pray the wait is much shorter than expected, especially for those of you who are not with your spouse.

Yes do update us on every detail throughout your journey for it helps us know how you're doing with your case and it also helps you as you share your ideas with other VJ members here :) (I did say".... to update your Visa Journey here" when I started this thread.. ;) )

Also thank you so much for your consideration.. I for one am without my husband and it just doesn't feel normal to be separated like this. IT hurts greatly BUT I know being patient, loving with my husband and believing that one day all this will be over is the key to holding on in this journey.

All the best with your journey Mamapuchis and the rest, who are going through NVC

To the rest of us still waiting for our NOA2... Our time will come :) it will come and happen at the Right Time :D

I'm realizing the value of calling the NVC to get your case number. I received the case numbers in the mail today in the NVC welcome letter. I received my case numbers when I called NVC on July 30. I filled out the DS-261 on July 31 and was invoiced for AOS on August 4. Calling definitely benefits you.

Happy Saturday June filers I have been pretty quiet as of late. However I wanted to take time out and share something with you.

The two hardest tests on the spiritual road are the patience to wait for the right moment and the courage not to be disappointed with what we encounter.

Be blessed be strong and know that you are all in my prayers.

Timeline update....NVC received our notice on July 28 I haven't made any calls since then but figure based on others I still have about 2 weeks wait.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I knew no other way than this, where 'I' does not exist, nor 'you'. So close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Nothing is normal about this process. You'll have your approval soon enough!

I was able to pay my AOS fee today. (Got my case number on Friday) They seem to be moving right along.

Is it just me or has the process gone pretty quiet for this group currently stuck at NOA1?

It seems there were a few people who got NOA1 in the first week or 2 of June who proceeded to NOA2 quickly, even by the end of June. Especially those filing from abroad routed to the California Center.

That gave me hope as I also filed from abroad (and I have now moved back to the US but my wife is abroad for the next XX months...always seems to surprise people when I tell them I hope it'll be only 8 months! "But you're married, should be quick, right?")

NOA1 was June 24, and nothing since. Has anyone who received NOA1 in the last 2 weeks of June actually moved forward?

I realize that other centers like Nebraska are typically worse...here's to hoping it goes quickly for all of us.

I am in the same position as you, apart from my husband and it is just awful. It is like our lives are on hold because we have no idea when this immigration process will be over and behind us. We all truly can't live life to it's full potential being apart from the one you love. All our plans for the future are stuck in limbo waiting for paperwork to be pushed through. I hope our time comes soon because I can't wait to start living, fully side by side with the love of my life everyday. Crossing fingers and praying that Nebraska starts zipping through these applications like CA is. :)

Its the test of faith that we have to wait for NOA2. The processing times for California Service Center show that the I-130 petitions for Mid-June are being processed but why can't we be approved. I am keeping an eye on the processing times as I go through a difficult time of being separated from my loved one. I pray for quick approvals for the Mid-June filers at CSC. Please the Mid-June filers at CSC should keep us posted. I pray the Almighty answers our prayers this week
