Wow. Congrats! That's really awesome ??

Unfortunately for me I didn't get anything from NVC hehe. I'll try again in the coming days. Also, I was wondering (maybe I m not researching enough), say I have my Case number and IIN from calling NVC, I don't exactly know what to do from there. Do I need to still wait for their correspondence before doing anything with my acquired case numbers?

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I knew no other way than this, where 'I' does not exist, nor 'you'. So close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Thanks Ebson's Wife and JoRu16,

JoRu16, after getting case numbers the next step is to get the DS-261 choice of agent done. Eventually, the DS-260 will need to be completed. Then after that is when they start invoicing and accepting payments and things for AOS and visa fee, etc.

Here's a helpful link (make note of fee changes, though):

I called the NVC today. I thought I was going crazy, because sometimes the message said all operators were busy and "Call Back Later" and eventually it hung up on me, and other times it gave me the option to choose 1 for English. So pay attention and keep calling back! My estimated hold time was 20 minutes. I got bored, walked into the kitchen with the phone, opened the freezer and a bag of ice fell out that I couldn't fit back in, and that's exactly when they answered... So that's the trick to getting them to pick up - put yourself in a very awkward situation ;)

She said they received my package July 28 but there's no case number yet, and that it could take 35 days (I hope not!). I think I'll call back next week.

USC in France since 2/2012. Married 2/2013.

June 16 : NOA1 dated June 15 received via text/email (assigned to California Svc Ctr)

June 23 : NOA1 received via mail in France

July 14 : NOA2 received via text/email

July 28 : NVC received our case (no case # or IIN yet)

Aug 24 : Called NVC, received case # and IIN. Submitted DS-261 and paid $120

Sep 5 : Received NVC Welcome Packet via mail in France

Sep 22 : Called NVC to ask why IV fee was not available to pay

Sep 23 : Received IV application invoice by email (not available to pay online yet)

Sep 24 : Paid IV fee online ($325)

Sep 27 : DS-260 completed

Sep 30 : AOS/IV Packets received by NVC (received identical confirmation emails Oct 3 and Oct 5)

Oct 28 : 3 N/As, confirmed Case Complete

Dec 2 : Called NVC to see why interview date not received. They said it was scheduled today.

Lol! I've experience a few of those awkward situation moments while waiting on the phone for a rep.

Don't pay attention to that 35 day waiting period. I would call back in about two weeks to inquire about your case number and invoice ID number as it took us about 12 to 14 days to get ours.

We called NVC on July 22 and got told that our case was in "pre-sort" and that we'd have to wait for 4 weeks for the case number and IIN.

We finally received our case number and IIN 2 days ago (11 days since they received our case) and found out that it got assigned on July 23, just the day after the "pre-sort" stage. Lol 1 week wasted :(

Just give them a week or 2 and I suggest you start calling :)

We are at NE (NOA1- June 1st), but I feel your pain. Seems NE and TX are both the slowest centers out of all of them. Hoping for an approval by the end of October so maybe my husband can be in the States by Valentines day or March. That would be amazing!! :) Good luck to you on this longggggg journey and know you are not alone.

Did most of the June filers ( from Nebraska center) that are getting approved, file for expedition of their case? Just wondering because it seems Nebraska is processing cases from January 2014 :/

I think a few of them were expedited cases, but some just got lucky and were approved super fast. I do see people getting approved that were February filers, so it still looks like NE is processing in the 5 month time frame. I also think that they might be getting behind on applications so when that is the case they update the processing time on the website to the date they last processed when they weren't back logged, which would be Jan 2014. From hearing the actual petitioners who filed in Feb receive approvals, I think all us NE filers are still ok. Let's just hope we hear some approvals soon. :)
