Terri & Salim, our status message said the same thing as you are seeing after we received our NOA1 and remained that way until we received the NOA2 message last night.

Once you receive your NOA2 notice the message will change.

OK great I was starting to think maybe something was wrong lol...I can relax now thank you :)

If California is so ahead on processing, why aren't they transferring applications from Nebraska and TX to CA? Since those apparently seem to be the two slowest or backuped centers. It just makes no sense to have all these people wait like crazy when that would cut wait time for NOA2 in literally half..

CA is rocking these NOA2's out! That is awesome! Today is exactly 1 month our application has been waiting for NOA2. At least we have one month down, hopefully not to many more to go!

Did anyone who received their NOA2 sign up for email and text notifications? I am very curious if they actually send those if you did. Congrats to everyone with good news this week!! :)

Cosmos22, are you talking about when you sign up on MyUSCIS? If so, yes I received a text message last night alerting me that my status on MyUSCIS had changed. The email notice i received was sent directly from USCIS.

Yes the MyUSCIS is what I was referring too. Just curious because some people who signed up for email/text alerts specify that they never received them and found out about their approval by just checking their case status. That is awesome that they actually alerted you. :) Good luck on the next part of your journey.

I got the email (didn't sign up for text since abroad) it arrived at 5:30am France time, which is 8:30pm California time, I guess they have it on autosend? I know Americans work longer hours than the French, but 8:30pm for a government worker seems pretty late no matter the country :P

when approved, after it must send to the NVC criminal records? should we translate?

Are you talking about police certificates? If so, yes... make sure to get them translated into English.

I'm not sure if I read this somewhere or just hypothesized it, but I thought that the reason CA is so fast is that the cases aren't distributed randomly, and that CA was routed cases that satisfy certain criteria or for some reason are fast-tracked. Like people filing from abroad, maybe certain countries? For instance I know of two other couples who are married and filing from France, and we all got routed to CA.

I looked at this chart and saw IR1/CR1 couples from France are being routed to NE and CA, but I have a feeling the ones going to Nebraska have one person already in the US. Just a theory, I could be totally wrong.

Hey CA, please give me a NOA2 for July 4th!

Hello,

I have lived in Canada (permanent resident) for 16 years.

I know that I should move back to the US & find a job before my husband's IR-1 Visa is complete so I can show domicile and income to support. I have a contract at work until October so I am hoping to move after that.

At what stage of the process would be the best time? We are expecting our NOA2 in the next month. I know I have to send in the affidavit of support to the NVC shortly after petition approval but the only income I will report on it is zero US dollars but I do have assets in Canada. I will also have my mom as a joint-sponsor.

If I move after sending information to NVC but before the interview do I need to resubmit affidavit of support showing US income? US address?

Thanks for any advice.

Hello I just answered your question on Facebook. But I will post here also for others who may have same question.

There many ways to re-establish or establish domicile back to US. Your Affidavit of support is covered you have a sponsor so no worries there. You just need to show that you are re-establishing domicile. You don't have to move back. But here is the NVC Process wiki from Visa Journey read Step 6 - Gather AOS Package this will help.
