I have couple of questions regarding the Police Certificate from Jordan (seems there are recent changes from what I read in this thread):

1) Is it obtained from the Intelligence Department (Mokhabrat) or from Court of Justice (Qadi El-Qudah) or from Civil Department (Ahwal Madaniah) ? or from all the above.

2) Do we need to submit this document to NVC in the states or take it to the embassy for interview?

Thank you

You have to get a police certificate and a non-convection certificate as well. get the first from General Intelligence Department/Abdali in Amman near the mosque with the blue mosaic dome, and the other from the Ministry of Justice.

In Arabic i can't help you as my Arabic is not so good. But if you already got to the interview stage you just need to bring all original documents that was sent to USCIS and NVC. This should keep it easy and simple.

Thank you Zeeeeeeek! I appreciate your help.

Do We need to send the police certificate and no-conviction to NVC or to the embassy?

Thank you

Amman has a mandatory electronic processing, Therefore what you need to do is Scan all the documents send them to NVC and once you receive the interview date you need to bring all original documents with you to the Embassy.

I tried to find out how to check for my husband's green card online through the uscis website. But i saw info is not updated so i called but they need to speak to the applicant (my husband). I will call again tomorrow with my husband present. We are still waiting for the green card. My husband arrived on Nov. 9, 2015. He has the stamp on his passport, and he received his social security in January. So for those waiting for green card u can check uscis website. Maybe u will have a better luck☺

We have an interview set up for March. ...we have a question about the tax returns.

My wife submitted the I-864, evidence of income and tax information in November of 2015, so the tax information that was submitted was the 2014 tax returns. ("the most recent tax year" at the time she submitted the I-864)

...Now that 2015 is passed, and we are in 2016, I am wondering if she needs to submit new tax returns for 2015, or because the NVC received the case in 2015, will what she submitted then (2014 tax year), still be valid?

...she has not filed taxes this year, as filing this year w/out me as married (I have no ITIN or SSN) will increase the money she owes in the taxes by a lot. She was originally planning to file after I get an ITIN, or SSN...which ever we can get first (She doesn't have the notarized copy of my passport in order to get the ITIN - that is something we plan to get when she is here in a couple weeks for the interview - or she may file for a tax extension if necessary for the 2015 taxes until I get get my SSN if my visa is approved right away).

She plans to bring her W-2, plus any new pay stubs with her so I can have this in the interview.

....does anyone have recent experience with this kind of situation when the AOS submitted to the NVC, and the date of the interview is far apart and spans over the tax season? (especially when the "tax season" is not over yet...the deadline for taxes is way past my interview date).

Anyone having gone through this with recent interviews - and in Jordan (Amman embassy) especially, would be great!

we really need help !!!
thanks in advance!

Hi guys,

Just a question I've received my interview packet but it doesn't mention brining any evidence of marraige to the actual interview.

Since my embassy requires me to drop off the packet of documents 2 weeks before the interview, do I include these evidence documents in the packet or just bring them with me the day of the interview?

Thanks

According to the embassy page you don't need the "Police certificate" from the mu5abarat anymore, just the 3adam ma7kumiyeh:

Police certificate (s): This requirement applies only to periods of residence after

attaining the age of 16. Starting November 1, 2014, Jordanian Police Certificates

will no longer be required documents. Applicants living in Jordan will submit a

certificate of non-conviction instead of a Jordanian Police Certificate. An applicant

must present a police certificate, if obtainable, from his or her country of residence

and country of nationality, if residence in such country exceeds six months. Also

police certificates are required from countries of previous residence, if residence

there was for more than one year
