Amman Jordan - Spouse Interview

What I concluded is that the problem isn't at the NVC it's the Embassy's business since they don't serve many cases each month which is illogical because every time I drive by the embassy i see a long line of not less than 100 persons who are seeking Non-immigrant visas .

This problem can be solved by either file a complain for the NVC or the Department of State that I don't know how!?? or the other option is calling the Embassy directly but they will not transfer us to the immigrant visa section or we can ask for the general consular officer in person.

I think the first option is the best but how can we file a complain or notice for them beside the regular NVC email address since this address NVCinquiry@state.gov for just inquiries only and takes so long to reply.

Any other Suggestions??

consular section at the embassy extension is 6613 but they are harder to get ahold of than the nvc . Edited by Morganalmonshid94

Here you go guys, here is the consular extension,

lets start calling them tomorrow and make sure to call these days because we are at the end of the month and they provide the NVC with their schedule for upcoming month these days so they might increase the number of scheduled people for the next round.

Good luck

That's a great idea, so we should call this number +962 (6) 250 9955 (Jordan) or (703)520-2242 (USA)

I tried calling the 703 number and they weren't helpful at all, I guess they have no consular section its only a call center. so we have to call the +962 number

Wow!! I will email the three congress/senators in my town. I also believe if we made a petition with our names and case numbers like a google document and submit it will have a greater impact, it will show how the embassy is doing to us American citizen who have been waiting for two years now!! and others non-citizen receive their visa in matter of days!!! this is just unfair!!! let me know your thoughts

I did mention in my emails that I am not alone, and have provided all of our info, I even offered whatever guarantee they see fit to bring my wife back to Amman for the interview when it becomes available, just give her a visit visa just like everyone else.

Hey guys,

So I am certain the issue is rather simple, people from war torn countries get priority over everyone else, and since the embassy in Jordan is home to syrian, iraqi, and yemen applicants interview they are getting the priority. While i understand that logic and sympathize, I have been in a relationship for 2 years and we have been legally married for a year and 1 month. I am a medical student and i can't afford the money or the time to keep making trips to see my husband in Jordan. Its an embassy in Jordan, Jordanians shouldn't suffer as well. they should either hire more staff and accommodate a larger load each month or give the priorities equally all around. I am Jordanian and i shouldn't be punished because my country is a safe haven for others. we should be treated according to the so much we do for others. I will be contacting the Amen Fm 89.5 to explain the situation that Jordanians are facing with this issue of visa interviews and would like for people in power in Jordan to attempt to work with the us embassy to solve this issue. And i urge you guys to attempt to due the same, by introducing the issue we are having live on air with the Amen el 3am we might reach people that might be able to help with this issue.

I agree with you Neveen, the issue should be made public, I have sent my story to CNN and NBC, let us know if you get any where with Amen and we can participate, I am willing to do anything at this point.

You should see the Sept Inyerview Group, interviews are being scheduled at all Embassies except Amman.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Our cc date is 4/9/15. I just got back from Amman and spoke to some people by chance as I was leaving the Embassy there. They said for me to request my case from NVC? Does that sound familiar to anyone? I have grown tired of calling nvc because I hear the same thing every time. I requested expedite and they denied us as well. Any insights will sure help. Thanks

Hello Guys,

What I know is that the US Embassy in Amman do not respond to any complain comes from a local official and non-official departments regarding consular issues. Even the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The only way to reach them is through a complain from USA ( Senator, Congressman, etc) and I have fount that there is a form to contact the Department of State which is responsible and have a word on all US embassies around the world and here is the link to fill it out

https://register.state.gov/contactus/contactusform

Lets all fill this form out and tell them about the problem here in the Embassy regarding scheduling interviews of US citizen spouses.

Guys, you are not alone, mine was completed on May 3rd and still no interview date yet. This is so frustrating especially when seeing other members in other countries already got their visas. Seems that the post in Jordan is having major delays.

Hi, mine was also completed on May 1st and we haven't heard anything yet. Please let me know if you hear anything!

Hi.. I'm in the same boat as you guys, my CC was on May 1st and still awaiting the interview letter which has taken almost 4 months and nothing received until now. I and my wife are very irritated and frustrated because of this stupid delay. Can't the embassy spare 15 minutes to interview one of us? I'm sure they can interview all of us in one day. They have no idea what we are going through and they don't seem to care. When we first filed the petition, the immigration office told us that the whole process will take 6-10 months. It has been 15 months now and counting.

Great Job Guys! a guy from a local office that deals with Iraqi refugees cases was saying that the U.S embassy in Amman is like 5 embassies it deals with different nationalities such as the Syrian, Iraqi, Yemeni, Libya and more. and they have the same staff as before, that employees themselves are not like before with this new ambassador so unless we do something to get the word out we will be stuck in the system for a very long time!!

I am sorry guys but the issue is related to the fact that the embassy is only providing visitor visa interviews and not immigrant ones unless the immigrant is not a Jordanian Citizen. I don't think that the other countries are an issue. The timeframe for an immigrant visa interview is 60 days ever since the Syrian situation started at the embassy in Amman Jordan. The embassy was not ditching immigrant visas for Jordanians until March of this year. You may open a petition at the white house web site for the white house to respond if enough signatures are collected. The petition can simply have the subject of stranded US citizen spouses in Jordan.
