Biometrics appointment!!!

Hello All,

I and my husband are planning to file AOS in California at the end of June this year. In July, we are going to travel to east coast for a month or so. I am afraid that biometrics appointment notice will be sent during that period time. My question is : Do we have to attend biometrics appointment in California? Can we choose the location where we do fingerprint ?

I barely sent in my application on Tuesday but from what I have read and understood the biometrics appointment cannot be changed or rescheduled so you cannot miss it. Seems like if it lands on one of the days of your trip you will have to cancel your trip. I'm taking a mini vacation later on this month and if (I don't think it'll be that fast) they send me my letter for that appointment I will be canceling my trip.

It's possible to reschedule the biometrics appointment (by checking a certain box in the mail and mailing it back to USCIS, I think). You can have a friend check your mails, and do the rescheduling for you if necessary.

Hello

I filed for my AOS here in CA, and my biometrics scheduled in a month. So i think traveling prolly isn't a good idea since all AOS matters are so timly sensitive, and all the cases in CA seem to be processed fast.

I just called USCIS today and they told me that I DO NOT have to attend biometric appointment where i live now when i am traveling. I can go any USCIS local center to do that. And also, I can also reschedule the appointment. thanks!!
