I do have question, I went to the us embassy of my country and find out that ,Do we need to bring the DS-260 application at the interview,do I need to print it out from the website,I never heard people asking about it,and i dont see it in the list of document I should bring in my interview letter.I would not like to miss any documents.

Usually the final step before you get your immigrant visa is an interview with a Consular Officer at the U.S. Embassy. For family-based immigrant visas, the Consular Officer will ask you several questions about your family member in the United States and your relationship to him or her. The Consular Officer will also need to see the following documents which you should have sent to the National Visa Center (NVC):

  • Your completed application form (Form DS-260). The DS-260 is replacing the paper-based DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (Parts I and II). Please visit: Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) or www.immigrantvisas.state.gov and select “Submit Visa Application and Civil Documents”.
  • Three passport-size photographs
  • Your Extrait acte de naissance issued by the National Archives; children under two (2) years old may bring their original acte de naissance
  • All other original civil documents that relate to your case (e.g. Extrait acte de mariage, Acte de divorce, Acte de décès, etc.)
  • Evidence of your relationship to the petitioner
  • A completed Affidavit of Support, Form I-864, or Form I-134, if required

On the day of your interview, you will need to bring any of the documents listed above that you did not send to NVC and:

  • Your valid Haitian passport and a photocopy of the ID page of your passport
  • Your medical examination report

To my knowledge, you only need the confirmation...and if you read the last part of that text it says ''you will need to bring any of the documents listed above that you did NOT send to the NVC.'' So since you already submitted DS-260, it is not needed.

I have a question to others that are goigg to have interview soon, are you going to take updated i864 ? I changed job in May and in old job I was earning less so I was for I864 I did household income ( my income combined with my parents income as I live with them). But now I earn more than 125 % poverty line and could support my husband myself. I'm just wondering is it better to leave everything as it is or to take new I864 to interview.. ?

What do you think ?

This is definitely necessary, show the most current information which is better, also the higher income would help you as well. This would be very typical case, for anything any documents should bring the most current ones, but keep that in mind bring the old documents as well, show to the officer both, or they might think you were faking something because you could not provide any original documentations.

Hope this helps.
