Just realized that the timelines are updated in the uscis website also. Cust support may have been looking at the very same data while speaking to us, I thought they had a way to check it internally that is not open to public. What do you guys think?

Not sure if the USCIS customer service have any further info or not (never needed to call them until now), but I can tell you for sure that the dates posted on the USCIS site are not particularly useful. My office is shown as processing I-485s filed in mid-April 2015 as of November 30, 2015 (that is the current info you get if you look today). Even if you add 30-45 days since we're now mid-January and not end of November, this still would suggest they are processing applications filed around end of May, right? Well, my I-485 was received in Chicago on July 7 and I already had my interview at this office on December 7, 2015.

Now, unfortunately this does not mean everybody's interview will be faster than the dates shown on the UCSIS page; what it really means is that you should ignore what it says there and try to not think about this or check very often. If it's been more than 5-6 months since filing, do an Infopass. If it hasn't, but you already have your EAD and AP, just go about your life. The day of the interview will come, but it will happen in a somewhat random fashion.

Myself and two other people I know personally did infopasses and a few days after green cards were issued. Actually at my infopass I was told "you're going to wait for an interview for a very long time" and them bam, green card. So talking to customer service at USCIS is like talking to a child, they don't know anything and have no authority, they are contractors and nothing more. If you want actual answers you're better of speaking to a tier 2 officer but I find that in many cases and infopass gets a lot more done than just waiting.

@wiss7 -- this thread is for people adjusting from non-family visas (i.e., not from K-1 like yourself). You might have better luck asking on these forums where people will have a more comparable experience to yours:

It is actually more about local USCIS office than the type of visa (the VJ processing times table is the evidence to that). Wiss is with Denver office that just began reviewing March petitions.

Not quite. The local office's schedule is of course critical, but the process is sufficiently different where the ultimate timeline differs depending on what visa one is adjusting from (ex: AoS from K-1 often do not go through an interview at all).

As a separate note, the USCIS posted times are unfortunately not accurate either. (You can see a more detailed discussion from me on this point earlier on this thread.)

Wiss, I am with Denver office as well as you are. Please see my timeline below. I am March 27 filer - still no interview. I am closely watching VJ Processing Times and other forums for AOS filing dates around my date. That is how I know they moved into March and even some filers from April received their interviews.

Thanks @OlenkaKyiv !! How did you know they are processing March filers?

AoS from K-1 often do not go through an interview at all.

Not quite. AOS applicant who is a child/parent of US citizen has better chance not to have an interview than K1 applicant. I do not have official statistics for K-1 filers but by observing this forum, I can say that your statement does not seem to be correct.

Got an email response to the service request - says my case is ready for interview and that I should wait for the local office to schedule it when they are able to. (Online status say - fingerprint fee accepted on Jun 30th)

I have an infopass next week - keeping fingers crossed.
