Sorry it has taken so long for me to write this up-my work computer has decided that visajourney is a malicious website and won't allow me to access it anymore lol. So Monday morning was our interview, traffic was worse than anticipated so we got there at 8am for an 8:15 appt; we were on time but I'm paranoid about time so I always try to be someone at least 30 minutes early. So walking in we were greeted by security, and they were so nice. They could see I was nervous and told me to just relax and smile. We went to the desk and turned in our paper and were told to wait until an officer called us. We sat down a couple minutes and were called back by a gentleman (I've already forgotten his name). He took us to an office and had us swear in and then pulled out our file. One side had all our papers we had sent in and the other side was a checklist, it looked to be fully complete. I had sent in a lot of proof, but brought in more pictures from our family vacation, medical documents, joint accounts that we opened once he got his ss number etc. He started by asking my husband basic questions, name, address, etc to compare it to the applications; then he asked me the same questions regarding the I-130 and my previous marriages just verifying everything. He got to the I-485 and asked my husband all the questions on there about espionage, terrorism, and I tried not to giggle because it sounded so silly to ask someone these questions; I was really tempted to ask if anyone ever answered yes. After getting through the formalities, he then asked us personal questions. How did we meet, when was our first date, where did we go, how long until we married, did he do anything formal when he asked me to marry him, what do we have in common, have we met each others families, then asked us what the others parents names were (my husband couldn't remember my dads name even though he was just at our house that morning, he was nervous). Then he asked if I brought more proof and I gave him the documents and pictures. He looked through all the pictures and saw us together with my kids and smiled. He was really personable and easy to talk to even though I felt so nervous. He told us that he would make his decision and we should hear something in a couple weeks, but if its been a month to check back in; I think he saw our faces drop (the KC office never seems to give immediate approvals so I expected this but still was hopeful) so he repeated it again and slipped in a "if you are approved...and I think that will be the case...you will get a 2 year conditional greencard because you haven't been married for 2 years" and I felt better. The entire interview was maybe 15 minutes or more, it felt like forever when he was asking us questions! So we left and about two hours later we got the text message that our status was updated and when I checked it said card production! Yesterday I got the update that they mailed his card. I'm so happy to have this over with, if anyone has questions feel free to ask.

I am probably the last one to receive the EAD here. Yes, I received it yesterday at my new address, atlast !

Incase anyone plans to change address and setup a usps fwd, be advised that USPS does not forward priority mails from USCIS (usually card/documents are send by priority mails). The approval/notices may get fwded though.

Based on my research, for Houston filers to get the interview letter is 5 months and 2 weeks and hit the interview day is 6 months and 2 weeks. I know it's a very long wait but we have no choice since Houston is back up.

Good luck to all Houston filers.

No, you're not the last one! We filed in early June, had an RFE which they received the reply to on Aug 7...thought we would be getting the EAD soon and then received another RFE on Sept 29!!!! We are waiting to receive the letter to see why....its driving us crazy!....so you're not the last one!

My wife became a US citizen in April and filed an AOS application for her mother (a Lithuanian citizen), who is currently staying with us on a tourist visa. The paperwork was sent to the Chicago lockbox on June 1st. Since then, she has done her biometrics in July and later received a request for additional information which we provided. The case is being processed by the National Benefits Center (local office is West Palm Beach) and the last status update was received on August 7 that they will begin working on the case again. Now almost 2 months later we still have not heard anything.

From reading other posts it seems that a lot of people here whole filed in June have already been scheduled for an interview or have even go through their interview.

Is there anyone else in the same boat as us? I am just getting a little concerned.

Based on USCIS processing time, your local office is processing Feb 9th 2015 as July 31st which means now they are processing April 9th 2015 as Sept 30 2015. I think you would hear something from USCIS within 1-2 months. Keep in mind your case is in normal process time. Hope this will help!

Don't always rely on that website. For the Orlando office it says they're processing cases from January as of July 31st. Which means that they are probably working on March cases as of the end of September.. Not the case though since our interview was already scheduled. I honestly don't think they update it. Similar to the text messages. We never received texts for updates at all. We received a delayed text that the EAD was approved, THREE weeks after approval. I already had applied for my SSN by then lol

Just want to share good news with everyone here. My interview is finally scheduled. I got the text from USCIS this morning and thought maybe my case is not ready to be scheduled for interview since it was on "Case was received". I was surprised since I expected to be scheduled by beginning of November. So don't panic if your case status hasn't changed. You might just jump straight to Interview Scheduled. Time to start preparing for me  ...I have not changed my name on my ID and SSN yet, would it be a big deal at the interview?

I would advise ppl not to trust the processing date on USCIS. I think they show it slower so people like us wouldn't call them up and ask about our cases  I referred to the processing time on this site and it is pretty close. I hope everyone will get their interviews scheduled soon!

So I had my interview at 10:45am today. We got there 1 hour early so we just went around the market nearby. There was a line at the USCIS door and the security was only letting people that were there 30 minutes before their interview. We got into security and they were pretty nice, after getting through security we checked in and got our number and was told to go to the 2nd floor and wait till our name or number to be called.

We waited in the waiting room for like 10 minutes(seemed longer because our 1 month old son was getting cold) and was called in. We followed the officer to his Office and then got sworn in. He then proceeded to ask my husband his name, date of birth, address, where he worked, how we met. We then just had a conversation about games (my husband and I met through online gaming). The officer then asked for my name, date of birth, address, parents name and asked me the Yes/No question from the i-765.

Overall the whole interview felt more like a casual conversation between friends. The whole time it was just about my husband and the officer talking about games.

The officer then told us his going to approve our case right there and I couldn't stop smiling. So glad its over and just need to remove my condition in 2 years.

Hope all those that are having their interview soon goes as smoothly as ours did!
