You can use your EAD to get a State ID from the DMV. If that's not enough, find another bank or credit union. What about other important things, like insurance, or personal communications/trips, etc.?thanks for the advice , I already went to Dmv for none drivers ID and also I did the drivers permit exams I'm awaiting all 2 of the cards to be mail to me. But I'm just looking at the facts that when we do open the account it will be a short time from my interview I won't want the interviewer to think anything funny.

Just explain why you weren't able to do it sooner if it comes up and that should be just fine.

So this morning I checked online and our interview has been scheduled for Oct 28th... :) Super happy

Also, it still shows online for the processing times for our field office in Orlando that they're on January cases.... So I wouldn't worry too much about what it says on there. I hope there will be more good news for everyone soon

Hi everyone,

I have never posted anything before, but I have always been a big fan of this thread. I recently got approved to be a permanent resident and would like to share my timeline and interview experience here. I hope this will be helpful for other people.

6/23/2015 - Package mailed

6/24/2015 - Package arrived

6/30/2015 - received NOA1 by sms/e-mail

7/5/2015 - received hard copy receipts

7/10/2015 - Biometric appointment letter

7/20/2015 - Biometric appointment done (15 minutes)

7/27/2015 - received RFE (on the things that have been submitted already)

7/31/2015 - responded to RFE

8/19/2015 - Online status changed to "case ready to be scheduled for an interview"

8/21/2015 - Online status changed to "interview scheduled on Sep 23, 2015"

8/31/2015 - EAD&AP approved online

9/23/2015 - AOS interview, approved right away

I had an interview at Raleigh/Durham (North Carolina) office this morning. The wait time was an hour and a half, but the interview itself was very fast (10 minutes). The interviewer just reviewed my paperwork and asked two questions (my address and my previous visa status). He said that everything was clear on the file and he approved everything right away. Overall, the interview was very easy.

I would like to thank everyone. You guys have been so helpful in this entire process. Good luck to you all.

Morning VJ family I'm officially nervous my status move to interview date in October, my main fear is I just got my work permit and in the process of looking for a job. Me and my wife have nothing together since we live at her dads place and she assist with the mortgage, we can't get a joint account as yet cause chase bank need me to get a us ID FIRST . So all we have is our togetherness pictures. I'm scared that's not enough any advice.

Don't be nervous as you can still do a lot since you still got little time left before your interview. If your wife drives, then she can add you to her auto insurance and also you can get life insurance from globe life insurance, stating each other as the beneficiary. The globe life insurance cost less than $5 and you can get the paper work before your interview. If your wife uses credit cards, she can add you as an authorize user to any of her credit cards.Goodluck

Based on time frame, they are processing March filers so we need to wait 3 more months to be next. But I they will process faster than they estimated.
