Yes, hopefully! I think we'll have them before the year ends if everything moves along the way it's been doing so far.

CONGRATS! That's awesome. Hopefully mine gets done next week. We're about a week apart in priority dates. I hope you get to go home to see your family soon... 17 years is a long time, I don't think I could have done that.

Thank you! Hopefully you do, seems like they're doing them pretty fast.

I came with my parents and sisters at the age of 8 so I had no choice and I got used to it quite easily. My maternal grandpa used to visit us while he was still alive so I was happy but my aunt Amelia is one of the many I haven't seen but miss the most. I grew up with her living next door and always spending time with her and she's very ill and every time someone posts pics of her on Facebook I can tell she's slowly fading away and I really want to see her again before God decides it's time for her to join Him. But I still wouldn't go to Mexico and live there, I've lived more than half my life here and see the US as my home.

Edited to Add: Like my dad said, "We were just born in the wrong country" lol but he says it because me and him look white and not Mexican at all lmao

My I-485 case is ready to be scheduled for an interview but no EAD approval yet.

Hopefully you hear something on the EAD soon! At least you know your case is ready for the interview, my status hasn't changed on the I-485 from Case Received so I know nothing on that.

Yeah - I hear you. Hopefully you get to go see them soon. But I'm in the same position as you are (somewhat). I've lived in Florida since I was 13 years old, so I practically grew up here and I consider the US to be my home, not Canada. I was fortunate enough that we had legal status so I was able to travel back/forth from Canada to see relatives but I could never see myself living there.

It's so funny that your dad says you were born in the wrong country. I've said that so many times hahaha
