received my biometrics appointment letter today :joy: another step down!

question: does anyone know if it alright that i don't have anything under my married name as of yet, the only item that i have under my married name is the marriage certificate. otherwise my passport and driver's license are under my previous last name -_-

That's fine. Just make sure you take your marriage certificate along with your passport so they can see where "the other name" (as the person at the desk put it) comes from.

ROC Timeline:

May 31: Package mailed

June 8: NOA1 received, dated June 2

June 27: Biometrics done

Sept 25: Case Status Update Card in Production

Question!

The 75 day countdown (I know we got a while lol) for the EAD starts when? When USCIS receives our package?

Reason I ask is because I'm planning on getting a new job once I receive my EAD because even though I love my job and feel like I owe my boss so much for being such a great person with me, I need something with more benefits. I want to be able to take vacation without being worried about a short check and whatnot. So I want to start looking once the 75 day mark is near.

Hi everyone, first time poster here. I'm applying for an AOS through marriage (from an F-1 Visa) and I wanted to share my experience and timeline.

I really don't want to jinx it, but this whole process has been really smooth so far. I applied on June 3rd, got my biometrics (the office and the employees were extremely nice) done 2 weeks after, then got an RFE a few days later and now my status is updated to "waiting to be scheduled for an interview". Does anyone know how long it takes, generally, from this point forth?

I haven't heard anything regarding my EAD, but I think no news is good news on that front, since it hasn't even been two months yet.

I'm pretty excited about this whole thing, now I'm just hoping the Dallas office doesn't take forever to schedule an interview - I'm going overseas in December and I'd much rather do that with a green card than with an advance parole authorization :)

Thanks. I checked and it says that the last case that was processed was from June 2014 :o:o .. does that mean it's going to take me about a year to get an interview?? ... makes no sense..

There's a thread on Dallas filers and they say it's been taking forever for them. I'm in Houston and seems like everything is moving faster than Dallas. Says processing time here in Houston is 4 months as of May 31st 2015.

Yikes. If by any chance you didn't apply for the EAD/AP, you should. It's free and if it's going to take a year, you will for sure need it.

Yeah I applied, I just don't feel safe traveling with the AP, especially if it's days outside of the time period I indicated on the form...
