When did you send your package?

My lawyer said he sent it on the 25th and that it should arrive at the Chicago lockbox between 26th and the 29th of June (because of the weekend). Honestly, I think if I would have found out about VJ before I hired the lawyer, I would have done it by myself. But I felt so overwhelmed, being almost 5 years out of status (although married that whole time), that I felt I needed a lawyer. :( I hope I hear something soon...

And literally five minutes after posting I got the email/text that my case has been scheduled for an interview, August 10th :)

No news on the EAD though.

Whitecloud, glad to have a timeline buddy :)

About bringing family to the ASC, my office had a large waiting area and there were quite a few family members. Also, no one seemed to care about cell phones or anything. FYI though, the lady did want to see my marriage certificate regardless of driver's license in married name (passport is in maiden name; app in married name), so take it along if this applies to you.

Whatttt? You're scheduled for interview already? :wow: If you get approve on spot, you wouldn't even need to care about EAD lol...I'm only a tad bit jealous but super happy for you. Could you send some of your luck my way? :P I really hope my interview will come soon too since I really wanna go back home for a visit this December. I haven't been back for 7 years, miss my family terribly

Oh ok, then it shouldn't be long for you to receive them.

I did everything on my own just looking at my sister's paperwork and filling mine out the same way just with my information. Now my baby sister wants me to help her with hers once she files for hers. She's on the DACA right now.

I've been out of status for over 10 years. I came here back in 1998 at the age of 8 with a B-2 Visitor visa. Been married for only 8 months and I still did it all on my own.

I know, I'm jealous too lol. I need some of that luck as well! I told my husband I wanted to go to Mexico to visit my family in December for Christmas as well but he told me no because the majority of our family is here so that's out the question but I can't wait to go visit. I have not seen one of my sisters in 9 years and she's had a baby since so I have a niece I've never met. Then I have lots of family members I have not seen since 1998 including my aunt who I grew up with until I came here. I miss her tons! Also I didn't get to go when my grandpa passed away and I was really close to him so I really wanna go visit his grave.

ETA: Next month will be 17 years since I last saw a lot of my family members after coming here *sigh*

I totally feel you girls. I thought my 7 years were too long already, but wow 17 years, that must be tough. I would hate to miss out on important events of the family. Hope you will get to see your sister and niece soon. For the last 2 years, 3 members of my family have passed away and i didn't get to see them or visit them one last time, especially my grandpa. I spent lots of my early childhood with my grandparents and all memories seems like yesterday. I miss him dearly. I hope both our grandpa would be so proud of us now even though they can't be with us :D Well, let's think about the bright side. Once this is done, we will be free to travel and do whatever we want, visit our whole family, meet up with old friends, eat great food back home...I'm too excited to think about traveling back home right now lol.

I know! Just thinking about it I get super excited about visiting Mexico! Visiting the beautiful places I went to as a kid up in the mountains where I spent my summers! I want my husband and my son to both see those places and watch my son enjoy them as much as I once did. Ah! I can't wait! Wooo we're almost there! ?

Thank you! Spreading around the good luck for everyone *luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck*

Thanks for the luck! I'll gladly take some of it! Lol

Hi VJ family today was my biometric appointment at 9am on jamacaia avenue. I got there at 8:15am and was finish by 8:30am. So all went well for me but, unfortunately for a Chinese girl it was the opposite, while she was filling out the form that was given by the security, she was on her phone he told her to not use the phone, so she put it in her bag a few seconds later she start using the phone again. a next man who look like the supervisor came and told her to put it away, the security then inform him that he spoke to her 2 times about her phone, after hearing that the supervisor told her to hand back in the form and come back a next day. It was sad but she was wrong 3 times.

When did Piano file?

Hi everyone,

not sure where I fit in exactly since I mailed package at the very end of May, but wanted to post my timeline anyways. Receipt notice is MSC and I'm going through the New Orleans, LA office.

The timeline so far:

May 26: Package Mailed

May 28: Delivered by UPS

June 2nd: Receipt message: email/text

June 3rd: checks cashed: checks cashed

June 8: NOA harcopy received

June 13: biometric appointment letter received for 6/22

June 22nd: bio appointment completed

Nothing new so far. Online status still says last update 6/3 and original message of "we received your app.."

Best of luck everyone!

Hi Shacanus! Glad your biometrics appt went swiftly and smoothly. Here is when Piano filed.

On a not so happy note.....I got an RFE - a request for intial evidence- text late last night. :-( I think I slept for all of one hour. I just looked through my i485 table of contents. Every bit of evidence that I actually have, I sent, so I don't know what they are trying to say I didn't send. At the rate at which my snail mail turns up, I probably won't know until the end of next week. Does this mean the the entire case is halted? Or just the i485? The text said:

On July 8, 2015, we suspended processing of your case, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxxxxx, because we need more information from you. Your notice explains what we need from you to resume work on your case. We will not take action on your case until we receive the evidence or the deadline to submit it expires. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

Aww man, that's one of my fears. I sent in everything they asked for as evidence that I had. I also hope that the fact that we have a son together makes things easier for me.
