Is there any special procedure for a walk in biometric?

It might depend on your local office but where I am, you just bring your appt letter and ID etc. (whatever you would normally need) and if it isn't really busy they have no problem letting you in.

My biometrics was in Jamaica, NY. I went there early morning and there was a long line, spoke to the manager and he was like yea mornings are busy but it'll slow down around 2PM come at that time and I'll let you in. So I went back at 2 and it was a 15 min job. YMMW.

I already have a job, been working here for over 6yrs and a half. I've been here in the US since I was 8yrs old, I overstayed my visitor's visa. My parents brought me and my sisters to give us a better life and education. When I first got my job I was honest with my boss and told her I didn't have a SSN and she still gave me a chance. Been working here since and I owe her a lot! She's been such a great person throughout the years.

Sadly, I am going to look for something with more benefits once I get my EAD or once I receive my GC. I would stay but I don't have any benefits, nor paid vacation or holidays and that's something I need. I can't afford to take a few days for vacation knowing they're not getting paid, or calling in when I can't come in for whatever reason. It makes me sad because like I said, I owe her a LOT! She's been such a great person with me and I feel blessed to have her as a boss.

Yeah, your boss was a great person and helped you out a lot. But you have worked there for 6 years already. She will understand. You have a family to take care of, you know? I hope everything will go great for you! :)

It depends on where your biometrics is. Some place doesn't allow walk-in. You could call to check and browse online to see if anyone succeed with walk-in at your ASC. If they do, you only need to bring your appointment letter, ID, marriage certificate. Good luck!

I got a letter yesterday from USCIS saying that the I-693 wasn't included (I had a lawyer helping me take care of this since my case is a tad bit complicated. Not sure why they didn't wanna send the i-693 along with the package  )...Anyway, at least it's not RFE...Phewww. It says that if I'm scheduled for an interview, bring it to interview. If I'm waived for the interview, they will send me another letter telling me where to submit the i-693 :dancing:

I thought I'd ask this to our group first. My husband came here on visitor visa, we met 4 months after he came and then got married. His visa was good for five years but only 6 months at a time. His 6 months was up the day before we sent his AOS paperwork. When does he become protected from deportation during this process? We're going on vacation soon and he's worried about traveling across the country.

Will y'all be flying? Or just driving?

I've been here since I was 8, I am now 25. When I take mini vacations we drive since I can't fly without a valid ID. Only time I did get to fly out to Vegas was when I had a valid TX ID but I can no longer renew it until I get my AOS finished.

Try calling the airport if y'all are flying, let them know he's in the middle of his AOS and see what they say.

Carrie1978 I'm almost in the same situation as ur husband, I stayed my visa 7 yrs now, Visa still hasn't expired, I just sent my aos package and just last week me and my husband flew to vegas, I was a little scared because all I have is my Dominican passport as id, they didn't check anything just the boarding pass to match the name on the passport, right now we are planning a weekend getaway to orlando, I just suggest yout guys travel with you NOAs, marriage certificate just in case they ask for something and make sure not to get a flight that would have a stop out of the USA or close to a boarder, hope this helps, good luck
