Hey Everyone, will I have to do a road test here to get my drivers license. I have a drivers license from Jamaica and I also got a temporary intenational driving permit from Jamaica to drive in the US. But soon I want to apply for a drivers license here, I dont mind doing both the road test and the driving test but it would be great to skip the driving test.

Hi!

I believe that you have to take the driving test, even if you have a license or a permit. It could be different from state to state, I'm not sure. Here in CA, it's mandatory to take the driving test.

Good luck!!

Certain states make certain nationalities only take the theoretical exam.

Impossible to tell you anything without knowing your state - best bet is to call the DMV directly.
