Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend legitimate companies that offer better exchange rates than the banks. I'm new to this and am afraid choose my own broker because I am unfamiliar with these companies and I don't know which ones are scams, or if there are any "gotcha's" like huge fees.

I am the U.S. citizen petitioner (male). My wife is the foreign beneficiary (female)

Western union, I use it all the time.

"A million years if I could live,
A thousand lives if I could give,
I would spend it all again with you,
Don't forget where you belong,
Only with me you are strong,
Not even the gods above can break,
Baby what we have"

Western Union is expensive.

It's usually only a $10.50 fee for the amounts I send. Sometimes it can go up to a $30 fee. But it's extremely fast. Which would you recommend instead?

My husband lives in Tunisia and he doesn't have a bank account. Western union is really the only thing we can use, UNLESS you have a better suggestion suited to my situation?

I know I quoted you but the reply was for OP. I meant it was a ripoff for them. I realize some have no other choice. I haven't looked for your situation specifically. Maybe one of the two sites another listed.

Right, but if he doesn't have an account for the money to go to, how else would he get the money? It has to be a pickup location. Trust me if anyone has a better suggestion I'd love to know so I can save money.

I guess those other two sites were transfer sites then, I didn't look at them. I've had to send money western union before and it's cost more than 50 bucks multiple times, I understand your frustration.

Aren't all of the options transfers essentially? Is there another way lol?

Sending cash and transfering are two different things to me. When someone ask me about transfers I assume they mean between banks and when someone says send cash....I assume that means the recipient needs to pick up cash somewhere and doesn't have access to a bank acct. I thought that's how most people viewed it but maybe not.

Do you have banks you can transfer between? If so check out xoom... 4.99 up to 3000 dollars for Netherlands. It literally goes into the othe bank acct within second. If cash needs picked up western union is really the only choice.
