Hi All,

After spending weeks sending in supporting documents after the interview, my husband received an answer from the consulate regarding an update inquiry:

"Our records show that your case is documentarily complete and will be passed to a consular officer for final review and authorization. Once the visa is issued, the passport together with all supporting documents will be passed to the courier service for delivery."

I'm pretty sure their documentation was complete as of Monday or last Friday. But regardless, "will be passed" is my issue. How much time does it usually take for them to pass our case to the review officer and how much time does it usually take for the officer to review the documents? Anyone know? Also, should I be worried about anything regarding issuance? -my husband doesn't have any criminal history and has never lived in the US illegal or for any period of time- The consulate also does not have his passport or any other documents, save for the affidavit of support. They gave my husband back his passport and supporting documents after the interview and told him that "everything looks good, we just need a co sponsor."

It's been a month since the interview to just get to this point. Any idea on how much longer?

You are asking something that no one has an answer to. It is very hard to tell how long things will take. It could be ready tomorrow or 3 weeks. No one knows. I would advise being patient. I know it is hard, but there isn't much one can do but wait.

Does anyone know if the consulate can put you under administrative processing without keeping your passport? I was just thinking that it could be that they are now doing administrative processing -- its just that they gave my husband his passport back... so I'm not sure.
