Just when I thought I have heard it all, along comes this story.

Three men accused of running a real-estate scam have sued county officials and others for $100 million, claiming they're victims of a racist conspiracy.

Last month, Albert Murray, Dimitrious Brown and Clifford Greene were accused of filing false claims on homes that they didn't own. All three were charged with making false statements. Murray, a Bibb County deputy was fired and also charged with violating his oath as an law officer.

Murray is accused of trying to illegally claim a home at 3553 Academy Lane in Lizella, having the locks changed and trying to sell it.

Last week, the three filed a federal lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Macon. The defendants include District Attorney David Cooke, Bibb County Sheriff David Davis, Superior Court Clerk Erica Woodford and others.

On Monday, Cooke said, "I've been doing my job by the books. I'm not intimidated and I look forward to meeting them in court."

The three men's lawsuit argues that their arrests were false, based on false information.

It accused the defendants of "Clan Activity."

However, the three also claim they are Native American "indigenous people," not African American: "The defendants have been titled as afrikaan amerikans when they have never stated or affirmed that (they) are black, colored, negro or afrikaan amerikan."

They write, "The defendants confirm that on a regular basis that they have been labeled that they are Black, Colored, Negros and Minorities and have been illegally ousted from their property because Georgia law confirms that no blacks had been previously allowed on that particular side of the County."

Last month, Davis said the men are suspected of being members of "sovereign citizen movement groups," that have filed similar lawsuits elsewhere.

A fourth man, Lemroyal James, was also charged in the case but was not named in the lawsuit.

Charges against the four men are still pending; Murray, Greene and Brown are free on bond;James remains in the Bibb County jail.

And here we go again! Same scam different people.

Two men were arrested Tuesday for allegedly filing false liens against properties in Bibb and Houston counties in an attempt to take ownership of homes that do not belong to them.

A warrant has been issued for a third suspect in the joint investigation between the Bibb and Houston county sheriff's offices.

Larry Ealy, 52, was arrested after he walked into the Bibb County Courthouse, according to a sheriff's office news release. They say he presented himself to the court clerk as an attorney and filed civil suits and motions on behalf of the other suspects. He's charged with unauthorized practice of law.

Dewayan Fitzgerald, 44, was also arrested at the Bibb County Courthouse. He was charged with criminal trespassing and false statements after he reportedly filed a fake lien against a home at 129 Fernwood Drive in Warner Robins. According to the news release, Fitzgerald hired a locksmith to remove realtor locks to take possession of the home.

Investigators said Anthony William Simmons, 34, did the same thing at a Lizella home at 3691 Holley Court. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Tuesday's arrests come on the heels of two similar investigations in central Georgia in recent weeks.

A man was arrested May 8 after Houston County authorities said he filed a fake lien on a $600,000 Kathleen home and moved in after having the locks changed.

A week before that, a former Bibb County sheriff's deputy and three other men were arrested after investigators said they tried to file fake liens against Macon area homes so they could sell them.
