So the most bizzare thing happened today. I called USCIS got transferred to tier 2. I explained I put in a service request from August 26 to change my address. The officer told me he will go ahead and change my address instead of submitting another request. He updated my address then he told me that he is sending a request to have my file transfered to the new state. Now I log in I see in my history that my address was updated and a new service request stating "request to have interview rescheduled". I never had an interview date before... Should I be worried or happy? All he told me today was he was going to send a message to Have case transfered from NY to NJ. Anyone ever had this happen to them

Hi, I've never heard smth like that, but I think it's a great new, they probably will schedule your interview soon! By the way, if you checked previous msgs, I got waiver, so hopefully you will get interview, seems like your address change make them to work on your case!?

Question?

We understand that I-485 filings where the petitioner is the applicant’s adult child are being transferred to the field offices where they are reviewed for interview waivers and in some cases, adjudicated. Once Houston Field Office receives such an application, how long does it take to receive an interview notice or adjudication? If we learn that the file has been transferred to Houston, how long should we wait before submitting an inquiry?

Answer:

Once the Houston District receives the file, expect to hear from the Houston District within 120 days. If you have not heard from the Houston District within 120 days, submit an email inquiry to: hou.inquiries.uscis.dhs.gov.

Checked my mailbox this morning and a Potential Interview Letter was sitting there waiting for me.. Seem like everyone is getting this letter, it do have it pros and cons but I believe that the cons outweighs the pros.. :( Good luck to everyone.

Finally have my combo card in hand! Followed a friends advice and contacted ombudsman on Sept 3rd since USCIS wouldn't reissue my card, wanted me to apply with the fees again. In the meantime USPS found the card, and returned it to sender. Ombudsman contacted them on Sept 15th, remailed out Sept 17th, and I picked it up yesterday! FINALLY!

This morning we booked flights to go get the rest of our stuff & visit! Should I change my passport over to my married name while I'm there, or wait till I have GC in hand? Any thoughts?

August 5/15 - Change of address submitted for new location

August 8/15 - Mobile/E-mail notifications for approved EAD/AP :)

August 17/15 - Change of address confirmation after calling in

August 17/15 - EAD/AP Combo card mailed out(To the wrong address, and then lost by USPS)

September 3/15 - Contacted USCIS and was told to re-apply with a new application and fees?! Put in a service request online for lost card, and a complaint

September 8/15 - USPS found & returned card to USCIS

September 15/15 - Ombudsman contacted USCIS

September 17/15 - Card mailed back out

September 19/15 - EAD/AP Combo card finally in hand

September 22/15 - NPIW letter received, dated September 9/2015 estimated 6 month wait

October 13-21/15 - Traveled using AP to visit parents & ship the rest of our belongings out west

November 27-30/15 - Traveled using AP

December 28/15- RFE hard copy, waiting on documents from Canada

January 31-February 7/16 - Traveled using AP

February 10/16 - Sent in RFE, delivered Feb 16

April 16/16 - Service request filed, RFE was never updated online

May 12 - Approved email and status update dated May 10. Service request never was assigned or solved, though.

May 14 - Greencard in hand!

got an update this morning for I 485. it says "request for initial evidence was mails" (this would be the second one..) i called USCIS and spoke to a tier 2, she said she doesn't see it in her system. so i'm hoping it was just a glitch...

2012: met the woman of my life :wub:

June 2014: filed I-129F

May 2015: visa in hand - got married (L)

June 2015: filed I-485 and I-765

October 2015: EAD

November 2015: Potential Interview Waiver Notice

February 2016: AOS Case transferred to San Francisco office

March 2016: GC in hand (no interview)
