Most states give you a Interm ID (without photo) that you can use until the actual ID comes in the mail.

My wife was born and raised in NJ so I'll ask her tonight and report back :)

How was your experience at DMV today?

It took me about 3 hours but I successfully got my permit(temp) today. Should get the actual ID card in about 2 weeks.

I hope they call you back next week so you can get it done asap as well. :)

No news from AoS, keep checking case status every hour! Another week passed without nothing changes! Waiting for AoS is a pain!

I did wait almost 2 years for my visa available to be able to send I-485.

AOS

I-485 and I-765 were sent on 05/29/2015

USCIS Received Date June 02, 2015 

A check of $1070 was cashed by USCIS Chicago on 06/08/2015

Biometrics Appointment on July 1st, 2015

EAD is approved on August 10th 2015 (73 days)

Received EAD card on August 19th 2015

Sent renew EAD on April 9th 2016

Got interview notice on March 30th 2016

USCIS received on April 11th 2016

Interview Scheduled on May 3rd 2016

Approved on the spot - Handed print out approval notice.

Received 10 years GC in hand on May 7th 2016

I'm not even checking every day, cause they will email anyway if smth changed, and plus app. And I'm really busy with job hunting right know, so it keeps me occupied , lol

There are a lot of people with RFE that already have their EAD though. Even people who filed and got the RFE after me. I just think it's weird that most cases are processed in order, who ever filed first gets their EAD first, but our case is like out of line

That's true. We had RFE asking for financial information. My husband received his combo card on August 20th. I've read repeatedly on here that RFE doesn't stop the process of EAD if the RFE is for AOS. Good luck hearing something soon!

Smth strainge happened this morning I got notice from that app that little icon on the top of my screen like something was updated on my case but when I oppened it everything is still the same...

Yeah the same, I'm wondering what was that?!!!

I think USCIS was performing a system update earlier today. I couldn't log into the status portion of their site. Maybe that caused some snafu with the app.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes until the AOS is transferred to the local field office? Or does that depend on how backed up the field office is? :)

2012: met the woman of my life :wub:

June 2014: filed I-129F

May 2015: visa in hand - got married (L)

June 2015: filed I-485 and I-765

October 2015: EAD

November 2015: Potential Interview Waiver Notice

February 2016: AOS Case transferred to San Francisco office

March 2016: GC in hand (no interview)
