I planned to go back my country on Jan 2016 so I may go head and file out my AP application. I thought it was 4-5 months to AOS but actually its longer.

I-130 sent on 09/15/2013

Priority day is 09/16/2013

I-130 was approved on 11/15/2013

I did wait almost 2 years for my visa available to be able to send I-485.

AOS

I-485 and I-765 were sent on 05/29/2015

USCIS Received Date June 02, 2015 

A check of $1070 was cashed by USCIS Chicago on 06/08/2015

Biometrics Appointment on July 1st, 2015

EAD is approved on August 10th 2015 (73 days)

Received EAD card on August 19th 2015

Sent renew EAD on April 9th 2016

Got interview notice on March 30th 2016

USCIS received on April 11th 2016

Interview Scheduled on May 3rd 2016

Approved on the spot - Handed print out approval notice.

Received 10 years GC in hand on May 7th 2016

I wish it would be in the 4-6 months time frame bcuz its hard to pay for classes without financial aid.

AOS Timeline 350 days

 

May 31/15 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP to USCIS

June 4/15 - Email and text notifications they were recieved

June 10/15 - NOA1 for AOS/EAD/AP Dated June 1

June 17/15- Change of address confirmation

June 22/15- Biometrics appointment received

July 1/15- Biometrics appointment done(5 minute appointment, 8 hour round trip drive <_< )

August 5/15 - Change of address submitted for new location

August 8/15 - Mobile/E-mail notifications for approved EAD/AP :)

August 17/15 - Change of address confirmation after calling in

August 17/15 - EAD/AP Combo card mailed out(To the wrong address, and then lost by USPS)

September 3/15 - Contacted USCIS and was told to re-apply with a new application and fees?! Put in a service request online for lost card, and a complaint

September 8/15 - USPS found & returned card to USCIS

September 15/15 - Ombudsman contacted USCIS

September 17/15 - Card mailed back out

September 19/15 - EAD/AP Combo card finally in hand

September 22/15 - NPIW letter received, dated September 9/2015 estimated 6 month wait

October 13-21/15 - Traveled using AP to visit parents & ship the rest of our belongings out west

November 27-30/15 - Traveled using AP

December 28/15- RFE hard copy, waiting on documents from Canada

January 31-February 7/16 - Traveled using AP

February 10/16 - Sent in RFE, delivered Feb 16

April 16/16 - Service request filed, RFE was never updated online

May 12 - Approved email and status update dated May 10. Service request never was assigned or solved, though.

May 14 - Greencard in hand!

The status of 'ready for interview' has no relationship to when you might actually be scheduled for interview.

Read some of the other threads. Some people wait for several months in the 'ready' status, and some people receive their interview appointment without ever having been in the 'ready' status.

Some people here go 6, 7, 8, 9 months or more after initial filing before they are ever called in for the interview.

So those who get a little anxious after a couple of months are just wasting their energy with such thoughts.

A call to USCIS regarding EAD/AP card after 75 days have passed does have some effect on getting the card soon. This card is produced by central location for everyone who applies from anywhere in USA, so there is standardization regarding timing.

But calls to USCIS regarding scheduling of interview for Green Card have no effect or usefulness. Green Card processing and interviews are strictly controlled by the individual cities. There is no standardization regarding timing. Some produce Green Cards within a couple of months of initial filing, and others take 9 months or more.

I just called my friend who just applied AOS in Jan 2015, he said he got his interview notice in 4 months, then later they re-schedule to one more months so it took him totally 5 months. He is also from same my location. I am confusing!

Really? I checked my office the do have a phone number, but I don't really think they can be helpful...

But maybe will try to give them a call sometime this week and ask how long it really gonna take?!

Anyway, the processing time chart changes every month. Keep check it every day guys. Mine was showing 4 months in May, then Dec 17th 2014 in June. I am waiting for July, August and September it may change guys. who know?

Woke up to an email saying that my card was mailed august 18!!
