We (well, my husband) will need it to get back in to the US after we are done. I don't know if it's kosher to have someone check our mail and send it to us while we are away as I'm guessing it will arrive shortly after we are supposed to leave (if it doesn't miraculously arrive before we have to go!).

arghhhhh! keeping my fingers tightly crossed that the card production process is extra speedy! :)

Congrats on your approval. Will you be traveling outside the US? If so, you can't simply travel with your k-1 visa and then come back with AP( Someone mailing that to you when you are outside the country). If you do leave the country without AP, you will basically have to start the whole visa process again. Does this make sense?

Its very normal because he is living in Honolulu Hawaii where has not much applicants so that he doesn't need to line up so long like others

Is that true? With the number of Asians like me here in Hawaii i'd like to think there's a lot more processing going on here lol

Really? I read somewhere where poeple got their 10years GC automatically after waiting almost 2 years for their first GC.

You are correct in theory - it pertains to how long you have been married at the time of the interview/approval.

From VJ website: "*If your interview (and specifically the approval) occurs within 2 years of your marriage you will be granted a conditional permanent residency (2 year validity). If this happens you will have to apply to lift conditions 90 days prior to your 2 year green card expiring. If you are 'adjusted' greater than 2 years after you were married you should receive a normal 10 year green card."

I agree, and know some people who got their normal 10 yrs GC this way, they didn't expect though, but waited longer than usual, that way till their interview time came, they were married more than 2yrs so USCIS removed the condition and gave them normal one:) Edited by Inna&Chris

You might be quite lucky to be getting interviewed so soon - USCIS website says they are just working on mid December - but as we know from K1 that date just represents the oldest case they have reviewed for approval, not necessarily the date of the majority of cases currently being decided.

If honestly I don't really know, saw few people from NJ( think I read it in your thread ,lol) who got interview appointments, I have no news for myself yet, but guess it's less busy than NY office. Hope to hear smth too, don't want to get waiver.....

Actually, if you have current EAD and AP it's not a bad way for things to turn out.

Yeah, I'm going to get a job offer letter from HR next week. On what grounds can I expedite my EAD? We are not really in financial hardship at this point.

I think a letter from a potential employer is good enough reason to have your EAD expedited.

With a job offer I don't think you need to prove financial hardship. Jump over to the May AOS thread, a couple of people got expedites, maybe ask them?
