Seems like a lot of people get the request for initial evidence.. Its just so annoying. What are these people doing with all the applications and documents?

We sent the RFE requested documents in last wednesday. Haven't heard anything so far, no updates or anything. I wish I at least knew if they got it by now...

Also nothing on EAD case status. It still says that my name was change (there was a typo).

Also i have a question about the SSN. I was told I have to wait to get my SSN until I have the EAD. I know a lot of people got it right after they entered the US on K1, but i honestly didn't care and also wanted to wait so I don't have to go back to change my name once I have my EAD. Now I am not sure if I need to change my name on my passport first, or if I can just go with my passport, EAD and marriage certificate? I am kind of lazy and don't wanna go to the consulate to change my passport. I wanna wait with that until I have a job, and save the money for now.

2012: met the woman of my life

June 2014: filed I-129F

May 2015: visa in hand - got married (L)

June 2015: filed I-485 and I-765

October 2015: EAD

November 2015: Potential Interview Waiver Notice

February 2016: AOS Case transferred to San Francisco office

March 2016: GC in hand (no interview)

No, you don't have to change your passport, you just take your birth certificate, passport, EAD and marriage cert. They will give you your ssn on your marriage name without any problem. Edited by Inna&Chris

I really hope these RFEs dont slow down the process for all of us.

Looking at may filers thread it seems like most people get approved for EAD about 2 months after the NOA1 hard copy. So another 3 weeks or so for me... hopefully!! :dead:

I just read in the April filers thread that people are waiting up to 4 weeks to get their SSN! On the website it says in the FAQs that you usually wait up to 10 days. Somewhere else it said to wait about a week after you get your EAD, so that youre already in the system by the time you apply for SSN. Does anyone know more about this? I didn't get my SSN with my K1 because I didn't know I could. You guys think I could still get it with K1, and then just change my name when I get my EAD?

You can as long as your I94 has not expired.

Our hard copy of RFE arrived today - as expected - more info required for I864 - info they already have but I'll repackage and send it because...

My RFE letter arrived and the required documents were sent out the following day. case status updated to RFE response received 2 days after it was received.

it was frustrating because they were asking for documents that were already sent out with the I-485 package....what are these case workers doing.
