UPDATE: i'll be attempting a walk-in for my biometrics tomorrow afternoon(9 days before the appt date) since I live within walking distance from the ASC. hoping they will allow it without any issues.

Hi, I have a qeustion about the social security card, is there a second time to apply another one ? Why did they write on the card valid for work only? Thank you.

First application when i was not married yet still using my maiden name after getting married i went back to change my name to married name n still it says valid for work only with dhs authorization

When you get your EAD card you will have a chance to go to SSA again and they will issue you another one without that saying, but if you already have changed your last name on ssn card, it's better to go there and get a new one after your green card. Edited July 15, 2015 by Inna&Chris

Sure if you want to be able to work you don't need that record "walid only with work authorization ", you need to get rid of it right?

I saw some people expedited their EAD because they got job offers, read in April and May fillers, I guess I read abt that it those threads.

I think you should wait one more week before calling them, sometime it takes abt one month till you get letter from USCIS.
