Took your advise and went to Best Buy with my broken old laptop. Geek SWAT removed the hard drive and installed it to USB laptop disk drive enclosure, basically a case holding the drive which costs me $29.99 without additional charges, and I went home plugged into my new laptop, retrieved and sent the 1040 form out.

Problem solved!!! Life is good to me!

Thanks Greenbaum!

That is the best news I have heard this morning, other then the visa approvals. I'm glad that worked for you. Saved you one headache.

CFO is like a little out of control on their control, if you know what I mean. There is them and just below them is God. Don't ask where you or I fall in....

Well my fiance is on a plane headed to Sydney at the moment for his interview! It is in about 3 and a half hours and I'm super anxious. His police check hasn't come in the mail yet and his medical isn't scheduled until Friday as we only had 2 weeks from Packet 4 to interview. The interview went well and not at all how I expected it to go. The questions he was asked were nothing like the ones we went over! They asked two of the basic questions and a few not so basic questions. I'll have to work up a full review and post it but it basically went like this.

Interviewer: You are in a good mood, why is that?

Mick: I've been waiting a long time for this so I can get home to my wife.

Interviewer: You already got married?

Mick: No, but I plan on it the moment I land!

Interviewer: Righto, so how did you meet Amy?

Mick: World of Warcraft

Interviewer: No way, really?!

Mick: Yep

Interviewer: What did you play?

Mick: Paladin

Interviewer: Horde or Aliiance?

Mick: Horde, but originally Alliance.

Interviewer: Nice

They talked a bit about World of Warcraft (apparently the interviewer plays as well)

Interviewer: Ready for the most crucial question?

Mick: Sure

Interviewer: What character does Amy play?

Mick: Panda hunter

Interviewer: Haha those Huntards! (Yep, people like calling us hunters "huntards")

They asked him questions about where his medical and police records were in which he explained that we only had two weeks from packet 4 to interview so his medical will be the end of the week and he's waiting for his police records in the mail. They also requested he get court records for his couple of minor offenses when he was younger OR a statement from the court that they no longer have the records (We already tried to get them but they said they had nothing prior to the interview). So we have to get the statement from the courts that there isn't anything there anymore.

They went over his criminal history and basically said it shouldn't be a big deal because all of his history is from 7-16 years old (No longer valid really).

They told him they couldn't give him a definitive yes or no as they needed his medical and police records but explained everything that happens once the records are submitted and how long it takes for the visa to arrive. They kept his passport (Yay! That's a good sign!) and sent him on his way.

During the interview, they did not want a single shred of evidence of our relationship (Not ONE!). They also didn't take my pay slips, bank records, or tax trascripts. They took my I-134 and our co-sponsors. My letter from my employer and our co-sponsor's pay check stubs. That was the extent of what they took other than his passport and birth certificate. They didn't want any proof as they stated they already had all of my income information on file and enough proof we are legitimate (Not sure how, unless it's from the previous time I sponsored him for his extension on his visitors visa). This seemed interesting to both of us but we aren't going to complain.

In total, he spent about 10 minutes talking to the interviewer, mostly about World of Warcraft and what happens when he is approved (Good sign?) so the general questions were not even asked. He offered more information than necessary but it made for a chat instead of an interview style thing. He said it took him ten minutes where the people who answered simply yes and no ended up there for 40 minutes or more answering in depth questions.

Apparently all is good and we are hopefully only going to be in AP for a short while. :) They figure a week from his evidence there to them sending out for the visa. We knew we would get AP so it wasn't a shocker. Here's to speedy delivery of his police records and medical.

This journey isn't easy...we went over many hurdles along the way... We are together now, 4 years going strong... It's never impossible, it is a matter of having the strength and love to conquer all things along the way!

@MickAmy Thanks for sharing your experience. That's two interview that I have read that they were not asked for all the information that is normally asked. The one thing that I have noticed is if you have a good repore with the CO during your interview, then things are a tad bit easier. If anyone is curious here is the other interview that I am referring to.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/566195-visa-approved/

Good luck on the rest of your processing. I see this one happening pretty quickly.

BTW, if others are interested, I have a list of the top ten interview mistakes.

what I have read pretty much everywhere is to get an ssn first, then get married, then go back to change your last name. So there`s records of you with your maiden name or something, if you check it in the vj search bar there`s a lot of topics on it! good luck!
