Sooo my fiancee used a cashier's cheque, didn't sent the G-1145 form or a cover letter, and he didn't send it registered mail.

Can you all give me an estimated time between when you sent your petition and received your hardcopy NOA1?

At this point, I am expecting an RFE because I don't know what else he didn't do or include.

You don't have to include a G-1145 form because that is more for being updated by email or text which he can do once he makes an account on the uscis website. Also same with the cover letter it isn't exactly required but of course it isn't a bad idea to include one. I know some people don't send it is registered mail and does not cause any problems. It does not need to be sent registered mail because they will still receive it just fine most people do send it that way so they know when it is received and the paperwork is safe. Those items you mentioned should not cause you to receive a RFE. The only thing is the cashiers check which maybe someone else will be able to answer. Good Luck!

When did he submit the paperwork? It's usually est. 7-10 business days for you to receive the hardcopy. I sent my paperwork in may 25 and received the hard copy NOA1 on June 9th. So that can be an estimated timeframe to think about. Maybe have him give them a call if its been more than a couple weeks.

He submitted on June 26th, 2015.

So it is officially 9 business days and nothing in the mail.

So I guess no panicking until next week.

I wouldn`t stress yet, give it another week, if you haven`t received it by then they might just return it before accepting it because of the check, if they do accept it you`ll get an update very soon They received our package on the 11th (sent on the 9th of June). Just wanted to check in to say that we received our NOA 2 yesterday on July 2nd! Our NOA 1 date was June 3rd.

Even though I know it would be way too early to get an NOA2 (got our NOA1 on July 2) I check the case status every day! I have been lucky enough to get to live with my fiancé for the last 6 months and I leave to go back to the states on Aug. 1st where I will wait out the rest of the process...getting anxious and hoping everything goes fast !

Question - I have tried multiple times to create an account on uscis and it won't let me. I keep getting errors. I try again and it says the username is already used. So I assume my account has been created but then it never lets me log-in. It says contact technical support and there isn't a contact form to be found (for my particular issue). So I sent an email to the webmaster and they replied with something that doesn't even address my question...in the least bit, so I assume that it was a form response (after about a week of waiting for an answer).

Has anyone else had issues creating an account after you have your NOA1 and case number? Tips? Would it help to call the customer service or is this number that they offer not for this purpose?

I was mistaken!

The cashiers check is the one the bank writes out right? We did the same thing and those checks are not a problem at all.

Only downside is you can`t check if it`s cashed but that`s no biggie.

I meant other checks can be tracked before you get your noa1, but our cashiers check was cashed as well shows on the hardcopy but to some people it`s a relief seeing their check got cashed to know it`s arrived before they get a text or their hardcopy

From what vj members have experienced,without an account they have difficulty knowing the status of their cases getting errors for instance.prior to my NOA1 when I read this I created an account on the USCIS website so I dont know what its like if you just check status without an account.personally I would advise you create an account just to clear out any hiccups on the way as you log in for an update on your case.oh and one difference I think there is, is that with an account you can know when your case was last updated although this can remain the same for weeks till you are approved or with an RFE on the way
