Hi guys, am a little bit curious on how you guys brought your wedding dress to the US. I would really like to have my dress be part of my carry on baggage, the dress being on top of the small suitcase and a backpack which is less than 7kg. Anyone who had an experience about this? Am flying with Cathay Pacific btw.

Hi thespoons :)

Wow, bon voyage! I also brought my wedding dress but since it's bulky , I placed it on my check-in baggage. I think it's also okay if you want it to place on a carry-on baggage as long as you followed the required measurements and weight of the baggage as per rule of Cathay Pacific, it would be fine. :)

People carry clothes on carry on every day, this is common practice...

Hi! :) I also put my wedding dress in my carry on. I couldn't risk putting it in my check-in baggage. I put it in a vacuum pack for traveling. It was easy because it's made of lace and was not wrinkled. I just hung it right away when I got here. If you want to carry it with you and then hang it up, check with your airlines if you have to pay for it or if it is for free.

You must be excited! Have a safe trip and have a great wedding day. :)

I suggest approaching a female flight attendant ask her if she could find a place to hang it. Females melt when they see a wedding dress. I'm sure she will help. Good luck.

Hi! I did the same thing. My husband bought a box specifically for wedding dresses that are going to be brought to a place. We ordered this at this site: http://www.foster-stephens.com/store/index.asp?DEPARTMENT_ID=35

Find a box that is suited for your wedding dress. It includes everything that you need for packing your wedding gown. Then once you get to your destination, hang it to save it from wrinkles.

When took my wedding gown out of the box, there were no wrinkles at all. And also, I used that same box again after I used the dress for my wedding day.
