My Scan date is May 26th. So if yours is still there, I must have a ways to go :ranting:

Have you tried contacting your state representative?

Firstly, I am the beneficiary in this case, and I'm in South Africa, so contacting state representative is not an option for me. My husband is the USC, and he is in California, but he works 12 hours a day sometimes 7 days a week so not possible for him to do either. But from what I have seen here, contacting your congressman rarely does any good. I think the statistic I saw is something like 92 000 congressional enquiries last year alone, so with that high volume of enquiries, it's not likely to do any good. I have come to the sobering conclusion that there really is not much, if anything, you can do to make your case go faster, apart from making sure that all your paperwork and supporting documents are there and presented in the correct way. Apart from that, just wait wait wait and try not to go completely crazy in the process

As far as I know, the case gets assigned to a supervisor who will review it: in our case this is because they haven't looked at it in the timeline that they initially gave.

It adds up to 42 days (6 weeks) to the process. You can get a case complete or checklist from this too.

Can someone give me insight on what NVC means by supervisor review? Is this just the normal review they do on everyone's case, or is it additional review? I'm confused!! :protest:

Yup, what PeteandJoe said :)

I think everyone is forgetting the normal just as recently in April was 60 days waiting, that was the normal and they picked up their speed like crazy for the later part of April and May . Everyone is aware there are system issues not directed at reviewing documents but the nvc always has issues, so I see it as their slowing down again . Just making a statement for everyone that's panicking because they go into supervisor review, the point of that is to actually speed it up but since everyone is getting put there I doubt that's gonna happen either .

Yeah I've thought about that, and almost wish they had just kept their stated review time at 60 days so those of us who went over our 30 day wait wouldn't feel so desperate now. The thing I have never understood about supervisor review - still don't! - is this: you go into supervisor review in the first place because THEY failed to review your documents by their own given timeline of 30 days. So they put you into supervisor review to 'speed things up', but then they tell you that the 'speed things up' supervisor review could take one and a half times longer than the acutal review time. It makes absolutely no sense and just feels like a punishment/stalling tactic to deal with their bottlenecks. I could be completely off the mark here, but when you're not given any real information or reasons for anything by the NVC themselves, the only thing left to do is wonder, suppose, speculate and imagine.

I may have mentioned this before, but just in case, I'll say it again: my ex-husband just petitioned his girlfriend to go to the UK on a spousal visa (they're not even married yet). From the time she submitted her application until the time she received her passport back with the UK visa in it, was FIVE DAYS. We have been in the USCIS/NVC system for two weeks short of one year already, and with everything that's going on right now at NVC and embassies, I doubt I will have my visa in my hand sooner than at least another three months from now. There is an enormous difference between five days and one and a half years - what's the problem???

It's not just you, I think most of us feel the same way. I think half the problem with that (for me) is that I no longer sleep as well or for as long as I used to, and the longer this goes on, the more this is the case. So I'm awake (and consciously waiting) for much longer than I should, and I'm always tired, which makes me less able to cope with all the waiting. Vicious circle. My mantra/motto/slogan for this year, as a result, has become: "It's not OK." Sigh.

I'd have to agree I submitted my husbands petition almost 2 months before I got pregnant and now I'll be due on Monday, I've been able to get pregnant and have a baby before this process is done . And supervisor review is pointless right now it use to actually be good, when I went into supervisor review in April my problem was fixed in a few days so it actually served its purpose but there's just too many people getting put under it now .

You must be getting super close to your delivery date now Morgan...every day when I see you here that's my first thought...! I hope you're feeling OK? Getting excited about her arrival?

I wish the folks at the NVC would just do us the basic courtesy of giving us some real information about what's happening with our cases - not the exact same, stock standard scripted response we always get: Nothing yet. Phone back in two weeks.

I know. I just don't understand how their priority system works - I've seen many cases with SD after mine getting CC and here I am, in supervisor review. I just tried to call now, the plan was to speak to a supervisor, but I gave up after 10 full minutes of redialling and not being able to get through.
