Checklist help.

NVC has sent us checklist yesterday to resent the i864 for the joint sponsor. As they stated the mistakes were ----

[x] In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following...

[x] Items 1.a. through 1.f. You must select one reason (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, or 1f) for filing the affidavit of support. [x]

[x]

[x] In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following... [x] Item 1. You must indicate whether or not you are sponsoring the person named in Part 2.

But i clearly remember & i have the copies that sent, where i filled up the following lines. I dont know why they sent us checklist for these.

did your joint sponsor fill in these fields in their I-864 form ?

you would have sent 2 i-864 forms to NVC...One filled by you and other filled by your joint sponsor...The checklist is for the form I-864 filled by your joint sponsor.

First guy I talked to said ok I have your case, I'm referring you to a case specialist to answer any questions you have... What??? So now I'm on hold again waiting to speak to a case specialist... Is this normal? I'm assuming this means we've been assigned a case number

Well I was on hold... the call dropped as I was typing this out. Will try again later...

Hi guys, I think NVC is finally fixing the technical issues regarding payments. Our AOS fee finally showed PAID, after trying to pay it electronically twice in the last 2 months. And now, we want all your help and input on whether we should fill up the AOS form online and Mail all the requirements as soon possible? Or should we wait after we have paid the IV fee ( the amount does not even appear when we log in), and mail the AOS and the IV requirements together? I'm just reading a lot of horror stories about NVC loosing/ misplacing documents when sent together.

unless you do the ds-261 AND get it reviewed they won't invoice you the iv fee and it will stay at 0.00 . And you want to send all the documents together if you send it separate this will cause delays and they say this . Them loosing the documents is beyond anyone's control but if you send it separate there's a bigger chance of them losing one of the packages .

So, my IR-6/CR-1 case is a little bit different than most people, I think.

I have a petition for my wife pending in the F2A category with priority date in November 2013.

We have submitted the I-130 NOA1, NOA2 and paid IV and AOS fees to NVC in March and since then we have just been waiting.

In parallel have had an application for Citizenship throug Naturalization going on since February, and last Friday I had my Oath Ceremony and I'm now a US. citizen.

(and at the same time. our Priority date for our F2A application will become current in July, according to the latest Visa bulletin, coincidence?)

Anyway, this will change the status of our case from F2A to IR1/CR1 and we are now going to submit our DS-260 and our AOS and IV package to the NVC.

We have an attorney that are helping us with this and I hope it will be sent this week.

What I am wondering is if anyone knows if it will take a long time for NVC to upgrade our case from F2A to IR1/CR1 or if it will be instantly when they recieve a copy of my Naturalization certificate?

And do you think this upgrade will speed up the process for us?As you might understand, we'd like to get the process started asap now. :)

Really, 60 days JUST TO UPGRADE????

That kind of delay would cause lots of trouble for us.

What in the world are they doing at the NVC?

If you check my signature you can find how much time it took for me to upgrade. But minimum it will take 60 days. with this system issue it can be more.. :(

But as you are a citizen now you must upgrade the case.. as they started you process, upgrade will not delay you.
