Day 30/30 received checklist by email. They asked me for the Police certificate from London where i stayed more than 4 years. I have a question that can i ask NVC to submit the Police Certificate to the consular during the interview??? Because getting PCC from UK is going to cause me more delay :(

Scan date was 21 May. They wrote --

Dear Xxxxxxxx:

We reviewed the documents you submitted to us. This letter has a list of documents that are missing or that need additional information. Please review the instructions and send us the required information. If you do not provide this information, it will delay your immigrant visa interview.

If you have any questions about this letter, please send us an email at asknvc@state.gov or call us at (603) 334-0700 between 7:00am and 12 midnight U.S. Eastern Time.

When you send us your response, include a copy of this letter. Also, clearly write your case number DHKxxxxxxx on the upper right-hand corner of every document you send.

After you email or mail the requested information, allow us 45 days to review your response. When we complete our review, we will send you information about the next processing step.

If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by email, telephone, or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. If this happens, you will need to resubmit the fees and documents to continue the immigration process.

I just found out that NVC has a lot of delayed problems with many cases. The 30 days review changed to 45 days review. they don't accept old document cover sheets, you have to write your case number on the right hand corner of each document you mail or e mail to them and you have to send back the letter they sent to you with your checklist. failure to do so will significantly delay your case. that's what I was told by one of their nice agent on the phone :sleepy:

that nice agent is just wanting to make you wait longer lol you can use any document cover sheet, it's the same barcode on all of them plenty of us are too impatient to wait . They just read that stupid script to us . Didn't delay my review at all when I got a checklist .

Agree, If there are precautions we can take to avoid the chaos at NVC we should, there is no guarantee either way that they will definitely disregard your documents if case number is not written on it, but hey if they loose a paper out of the big pile of papers somehow it can get joined. Saylin's wiki and the other wikis suggest the same as well, and Saylin put emphasis on it for a good reason. I did the same thing as 1stLoveRedo, I was lazy to write on 150 pages so i printed labels as well and stuck them while i was half asleep :) .... whats that old saying.... prevention is better than cure.... prevention is better than getting stuck at NVC and listening to agents script to our questions....

One of my favorite quotes that I read here on VJ: it is better to be grossly over-prepared than even a little bit under-prepared.

So, yes, if one doesn't want to hand-write in their case number on every page, then use labels or stamps to do the job.

Chips!

Hubby called NVC today. Latest word on ds260 becoming available: wait another 10 days.......no surprise answer there.

Word on our paperwork: we got a checklist. My hubby is beating himself up over the fact he forgot to check one little box. I told him to relax, ds260 can't be filed anyways, so. The rep said to him another 30 days processing time for after-checklist docs.

Morgan,

the cover sheet we will get with the check list, is that gonna be the exact same cover sheet with barcode from the AOS/IV package, the one everyone gets in the beginning of the NVC quest?. I just wanna go ahead and start correcting and send stuff in, don't wanna wait another week or so until we actually receive the checklist.

Oh, do you know what they currently say about the processing time needed for ds260?

TIA!
