Thanks for that :) Yes, it's the not knowing that really takes the wind out of your sails. I've noticed that the NVC reps also seem to be a lot more stressed (read 'unfriendly') lately. Had to really bite my tongue the last time I called to not say, "Oh, I'm sorry for wasting your time, was there somewhere else you were wanting to be right now?" No real answers, no empathy, no information, no timeframes, just a big fat zilch. I will not call again. My husband can pick up those reigns now. I'm done calling them just to be treated like a pain in the ###. I wonder if they treat US Citizens who call differently? What's your scan date btw?

Agreed but just imagine working there! Soulless and depressing sort of place to work.

Initial scan date was April 3rd, got a checklist - misinformation from the attorney - and checklist scan date was May 6th. How about you?

I thought we were really lucky getting an attorney; my husband moved to Pittsburgh with work and they provided us with one as part of the job offer but he has been terrible! The only benefit was skipping the DS-261 part, wouldn't recommend it really, even free it's rubbish!

My SD is May 8th. No checklist so far, but like you say, the supervisor review could result in a checklist or a CC, only time will tell.

Don't even get me started on the attorney thing. We hired ours before we found VJ, and before we found the Facebook group, and of course he demanded his full fee upfront ($1500, nothing to sneeze at!) so by the time we found out we didn't need him, we were stuck with him. He has cost us SO much in terms of time wasted and sheer frustration. He absolutely was not clued up on the current situation at NVC, and many times I did the research and informed him of the process and requirements that he didn't know about, despite claiming the accolade of having been doing this for '40 years'. I agree - rubbish. This process may be a soul-destroyer, but it's fairly straightforward in terms of what to do, when to do it and how to do it.

I noticed from your timeline that you had a super-fast NOA2 - 40-something days only! How on earth did you manage that??

Well, you and I appear to be in the same leaky little boat here, so here's hoping we both get some good news soon! Have you been folliowing the thread of my conversation with Morgan - re calling to speak to a supervisor? I'm going to give that a bash on Monday.

With the second NOA I wondered if it had something to do with the situation, having a attorney and Joe having lived in the UK before moving back stateside, but really I think it was luck of the draw.

We did have three months apart before starting; the attorney suggested Joe needed to live in the U.S. for a certain amount of time before we started the process.

There is nothing that can fully prepare you for being apart for so long. I have found hugs, music and the ocassional scream to be pretty helpful; anyone else?

I haven't tried speaking to a supervisor yet. Have been following but was unsure exactly what I could get out of speaking to one aside from more disappointment :( Perhaps in a couple of weeks will try again

Wishing you the best! Case complete soon, please!

Well, l'm happy for you that you got through USCIS so quickly - nice to hear that awesome things do happen in this journey every now and then :)

Hugs, music - 100% in agreement there. Haven't tried screaming yet - in my current state of mind it would probably just result in some very alarmed neighbours and a trip to a quiet place in a nice, tight-fitting white jacket.

Re the supervisor - my hope is just to get some real information about my case from someone who is able to actually access it while I'm speaking to them, and hopefully tell me what's really going on. I don't know to be honest - but it's worth a try.

All the best to you too...keep in touch...let me know if anything happens on your case. Goodnight!

Me too! Paid it again (online this time) on the morning of June 17 and the DS260 was available today, June 19, in the afternoon. I had all the information ready and already submitted it.

We already got a checklist on June 3rd (our scan date is May 4) saying the only pending thing is the DS260. All the documents we mailed in for the IV and AOS packages were OK.

Now that we finally were able to submit the DS260 (35 days after paying the fee by mail), is this something they can review over-the-phone? Or are we looking into another 30+ days of suffering waiting?

I-130 for Spouse

05/15/2015 - IV fee money order payment confirmed

06/03/2015 - Checklist received: missing DS-260 form

06/19/2015 - DS-260 available online and submitted

I've had about 4 supervisors tell me that since it is all I have left that if I ever got it to open to call and they would review it for me (they feel bad for once probably) lol so just have to call and get the right supervisor to do it basically .

morgan, after getting the IV fee invoice how long did it take for the online payment link opened for you. I am sorry i couldn't figure that from your timeline, i know you mailed it may 15, and then you were a lucky gambler to pay it twice and now ds-260 opened. but curious when the online link became available to you, i am trying to guesstimate how long will it become enabled for me. ofcourse there is no estimate from the nvc phone agents :)
