Hmmmm... not able to register my appointment yet...... I expect I should be able to tomorrow....

Any of the Canadians waiting, anyone thinking of calling NVC (ha!) to see when they are shipping our files to Montreal ;)

Best wishes all!

What does registering appointment mean? Isn't your interview already scheduled? You just need to schedule biometric appointment and medical appointment. I was able to schedule both appointments and my ceac status still shows "at NVC"

Original documents submitted during I-130.

Electronic Processing to Nvc; scanned documents submitted.

From my interview letter it says scanned documents submitted to NVc and present the originals.

My question is if NvC did not forward my original documents submitted during I-130 where can I get those docs I submitted to USCiS?

Any insights?

thank you.

does anyone know what the ELIGIBILITY DOCUMENT is that I received a 'J' on my interview letter for?

This is specific to Canada. Bring whatever document makes you eligible to interview in Canada. If you are Canadian-borne, bring your birth certificate. If you are a Canadian citizen, bring your passport. If you are neither of those, bring whatever visa you have that gives you "eligibility" to live in Canada.

we (Canada) don't do biometrics - only the medical - at this stage.... the interview is scheduled, but we register in the site they give us to register for courier services so they can return the passport.....

From speaking to others, it seems to be available (unlocked) about 48 hours or so after the P4 email/letter goes out.....

Sukie, this a worst case scenario suggestion I'm seeking. In even my accountant doesn't pull through and IRS delays, can I just print the refund confirmation on 'where is my irs ' page as confirmation that I filed my tax and print out my w-2 to show my income?? I am using a joint sponsor after all and I have his docs already !

Please suggest something for me

Dare, you will have to do whatever you can, and hope for the best. I think you have a good idea. Since the online request for transcripts is still down, Embassies and Consulates have to understand that people cannot get copies.

Next year, be sure you have a copy!

A small history lesson: all the processing (after the I-130 approval) for IR-1/CR-1 visas used to happen at Embassies/Consulates. You filled out the first half of what was called the DS-230 and submitted it to the embassy. They then asked you to fill out the second half of the DS-230 as part of their consideration.

When NVC started doing all the verification, the two halves were combined into the DS-260 online visa application. You now submit this to NVC. It's online, so the Embassy/Consulate can see it, too.

It NEVER hurts to carry copies of documents you've submitted to NVC with you to an interview. Pages can get lost, printers can jam. You shouldn't have to present a copy, but boy, is it good insurance!

Sukie in NY, you are gold! Did you know that? :luv: I have all hard copies printed out, I will sure have them at the interview. Thank you dearly!

You can't If you submitted originals to USCIS they are not in the package they belong to USCIS and they do not return them to you. You would have to fill out a I-884 I believe and it takes months to years to get your originals back if you ever do.

You will have to go get new copies. USCIS does not forward any originals to NVC that's why NVC ask for them..

I think our case is already in the embassy in Montreal otherwise we won't be able register our appointment online.
