Sorry my questions got ignored, @dwheels76 do you have any advice?

1. I do not know original date I put on the i-864 I submitted to the NVC does the matter? I will print out a new one and sign again..

2. Do I need the original hard copy of the tax returns for my joint sponser?

3. Is 1040 for my tax returns good enough? I do not have W-2 at the moment as I am working abroad. How many years back do I have to present?

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Praise GOD! I have finally recieved my interview date after being in this process for almost a year, what a great feeling! I have been following this thread for so long and have been so envious of all the interview dates, I am so happy this is finally happening!

I have a few questions to prepare for the interview:

1. For financial evidence (i-864) I sent the original copy to the NVC, and I do not know the date I had indicated when originally signing, does this matter? Does the US consulate actually check the dates?

2. For tax returns for myself - I only have 1040 (not W-2) as I am working abroad, and I have a copy in which I got from my accountat, is this ok?

3. For tax returns from my sponser - Do I need the original 1040 and W-2? Or will a copy be a ok for the interview? Do I need his original signature on the i-864?

Also-

Any advice on to what happens after the interview so I know how to prepare?

Thanks for all your help, this is such a supportive community and I am grateful!

1. Are you re-doing your I-864? If not, you just need a copy of what you sent last time. If you are taking a NEW I-864 to your interview, date it with a current date. Sorry - I cannot tell from your post which is true in your case.

2. You do not need an original hard copy of your joint sponsor's returns. A copy is fine.

3. If you are talking about your 2014 tax returns, you will need a copy of everything you submitted to the IRS - so...this is your 1040, any 1099s, etc. Your Consular Officer should understand that people who are working abroad do not have a W-2. But if you have a 2014 summary wage statement from your foreign employer, it would not hurt to have that statement if you did not submit it to the IRS.

Good luck!

The Immigrant Visa Application used to come in two parts. Both 1) and 2) are combined in the DS-260 now!!!

Photographs are two current 2inch x 2inch passport-type photographs. You may have already submitted these, but if you submitted them more than six months ago, you need current ones. It really is good practice to carry two NEW photographs to your interview - just in case.

I have the same question, so may I ask you again just to make sure? Does it mean I have to present at the interview my DS-260 form that I filed on-line and have it printed out in order to show them? Thank you!

In my instruction pages it goes under a letter R, what explains "you submitted the Immigrant Application online". Does it mean I DON'T have to have it as a hard copy?

A small history lesson: all the processing (after the I-130 approval) for IR-1/CR-1 visas used to happen at Embassies/Consulates. You filled out the first half of what was called the DS-230 and submitted it to the embassy. They then asked you to fill out the second half of the DS-230 as part of their consideration.

When NVC started doing all the verification, the two halves were combined into the DS-260 online visa application. You now submit this to NVC. It's online, so the Embassy/Consulate can see it, too.

It NEVER hurts to carry copies of documents you've submitted to NVC with you to an interview. Pages can get lost, printers can jam. You shouldn't have to present a copy, but boy, is it good insurance!

I received the email notification today . Print out of the email (P4) is enough for the medical as confirmed by the Rele Clinic in Mumbai.

That's great ! I have also scheduled medicals for 20th June. I have a confusion about photograph requirement. The lady who booked appointment over phone asked us to bring 6 Passport size photos. I asked which format - USA or Indian ... She said Indian. Is it okay ? Other than that she asked to bring Original passport, interview letter printout, USA address, black pen and vaccination records and other medical records plus 2 copies of all these documents.

Do we need anything else ? What type of photo is required ? Did Rele clinic specify ?

Hi

You can take interview letter for medical. In Lahore they asked e to bring following documents for medical appointment:

Original passport

Passport copy

Original CNIC

CNIC copy

2 Photos with white back ground

Glasses if you have

Previous medical record if you have any.

Complete address , zip code , phone number of where you intend to migrate.

Fee 8 to 12 thousand pak rupees

For lahore wilcare.org is better option and you can make an online appointment as well.

They will give the result within 2 days.

Best of Luck

My accountant sent me a copy of my tax return. I'm assuming your accountant has not done that.

I think your only option is to keep trying to contact your accountant.

Sukie, this a worst case scenario suggestion I'm seeking. In even my accountant doesn't pull through and IRS delays, can I just print the refund confirmation on 'where is my irs ' page as confirmation that I filed my tax and print out my w-2 to show my income?? I am using a joint sponsor after all and I have his docs already !

Please suggest something for me
