Zirq, akazmi and other MTL filers:

I am awaiting for an interview date, even though my CC is May 12. Can you let me know what your "priority date" is? Mine is Feb 23 and I am curious if that is why I haven't gotten an interview yet despite having the same CC.

Thanks!

My priority date is Nov 20

I don't think IR1 and CR1 have priority dates because all those visas are available and given priority. Maybe dwheels can shed light?? Just keep on NVC and keep calling....everytime i did..things progressed with my case file a few days later.

Thanks Akazmi and Zirq. My thinking is that there are a limited number of appointments available per month, and if there are more applicants than available slots in a month, the priority would go to those who have 'been in the system longer'.

I must have called the NVC 40 times tonight and could not get through once...I will keep trying!

Just got off the phone with the NVC - my wife's interview date was set today for 28 July 2015, 9:30 am...

That light at the end of the tunnel is NOT a train... :dancing:

What did you have to tell NVC to get a interview date out of them. Every time I called and asked they would say they are waiting for embassy to schedule the interview.... I just don't understand.

Thanks!

congratulations...!!!!!!!!

Thanks! It's been a long process (but you'll know that!). Very relieved... next step is to call the Consulate once the letter arrives to see about an earlier appointment.

Hi bseries93,

After I gave them my case number, the lady immediately told me that the interview had been set. She then gave me the date and time. She also said that the official email will come in the next day or two.

My gut feeling is that each Embassy/Consulate is a bit different, depending on the case load. If they are very busy, it may take a while. My guess is that Hong Kong is not the busiest Consulate so an interview wasn't as challenging to set up.

However, the CS folks at the NVC only give out info they can see on their computer screen, they don't actually make any decisions.

Fingers crossed - and good luck!

I called the NVC to ask about my family's cases and they told me an interview was scheduled for July 21st, while that's more than a month from now, but I'm thankful that at least now we have a date to look up to. :)

Hi,

My wife did her interview a few hours ago and she said it went well with just about a few basic questions asked.

-how did you meet?

-when did you get married?

-when was the last time he was here?

Then the IO asked for pictures and looked at one and said it looked good. She also asked if my wife had my tax returns and my previous marriage divorce decree. My wife said she didn't and the IO said no problem since they have them. She was then told her visa was approved and given a yellow/green pamphlet to know her rights in the US. Then was told to go register for DHL to which she told the IO she has already done. Then the IO told her to wait for her passport to be processed and the DHL will call her in a weeks time and that's it.

Now when I checked quick for the visa status it has changed to "administrative processing" and from what I have heard of that term it means delay. Is it normal to move to that stage and then issued or wherever follows without necessarily meaning delay??? Thanks in advance.

Don't worry too much. At some embassies/consulates, it takes a few days between the interview and when the actual visa foil is printed. The status moves to "Administrative Processing" during this gap in time. Once the visa foil is actually printed, your status should changed to "Issued".

Good luck!

If my 2014 income is below the poverty line but my parents who I live with agree to add themselves on our household income and sign that form that states they will support her if need be so she doesn't become a burden of the state do we still need a joint sponsor for my wife's interview soon? My parents claimed over 300,000 on their last income tax, and she has all our 2014 tax returns.Wouldn't that be enough?my parents both had to sign a form that stated they would support Gina if they had to do so. They had to sign these forms in order to add their income on our household income. It states that the household member is agreeing to accept any and all liability both jointly and separately with the sponsor for the intended immigrant. Thanks

Sukie,

Thanks for calming my nerves, is so confusing getting the positive feedback of the interview and nothing but approved and you will get your passport in a week message to then see the dreaded "AP".

Again thanks!
