Do you need to make an appointment at the post office to get a passport or can you just walk in???

No appointment needed. Just make sure you go with the appropriate passport pictures and your N.certificate.

Take a look at this website and find the closest facilities to you that accept passport application. Every facility has its own policy and some places require appointments and some don't.

interview is done and I made it

as my contribution I would like to share my experience:

California: Los angeles ( interview place)

Appointment time : 10:00 AM

Arrival Time : 09:30 AM - I arrive 30 minutes earlier

1. when I arrive in the interview place the security took my appointment letter and asked me to take a seat and wait to be called

2. they are plenty of people having their interview at that time i would say their are 20 people waiting when i arrived.

3. i see people coming back in the waiting area for their relatives waiting for them , some are happy because they some are not happy (failed the exam or decision cannot be made yet.

4. there is a TV in the waiting room ( just in case you get bored waiting )

5. After 30 minutes my name was been called and ask to come into the window where the security guard put my appointment letter.

6. I was asked for my ( Drivers License , Green Card ) then he photocopied it.

7. we enter the room , i remain standing and waited for him to tell me if i can take a sit .

8. He asked me to take a pledge first before he offer me to take a seat.

9. The officer started the exam first :

a.) what is the Declaration of Independence do?

b.) If the president and vice president can no longer serve , who will be the nest president?

c.) what is the capital of your state?

d.) what is the war 1800?

e.) what is the longest river?

f.) what month do you vote?

10. after you answer 6 right he will stop but if you didnt he will continue the question based on the paper he pulled there is 10 question but since i answer all 6 continuous he stopped and proceed in writing test and reading test.

11. after my exam he told me I passed

12: he went over with all my paper works, verified my name , work , address, and asked me the last page of n400 form .

after that he over his hand and told me congratulation and wait for my oath ceremony . he handed me a booklet about the oath ceremony and 2 piece of paper stated that i passed the exam and at the back of the paper the addresses of the places they held oath ceremony. friendly reminder make sure you have all your documents even you submitted them together in your application because you never know what can happen . i see alot of people was so upset because they never get approved because of some missing documents . I can see some interviewer looks so strict . my officer who interviewed me is very nice.

now its my waiting period. for my oath ceremony. hope to come soon . and am excited

I also wanted to share that as of Friday October 2nd, 2015 @ 1:42pm est, I am a Citizen of the United States of America. Thanks to all of you for the support and the information. I registered to vote that day right before the ceremony, the supervisor of elections too care of that, and I went from the UCIS office to the post office to get my passport. I am sooooooo happy, Laus Deo!!!!
